  5. I got the update today. Looks good with HTC Sense 3.0 & HTC Watch but I’m still gonna get either the Samsung Galaxy 2X or the Galaxy Note.

  6. What is the point to support video chat on a phone that has no front facing camera?

    • While it’s odd for them to advertise video chat support, that support is baked into Android 2.3.5 anyways. This looks more like a simplified changelog more than an advertisement post about the update.

  7. From the bit of research I’ve done, 2.3.5 should allow us to use the official unlock from HTCdev, which is good news.

  8. In other news my PC company just provided me with a WindowsME update CD! Yay for sane unfragmented ecosystems.

  10. Just finished the update. Enjoying the added features while I finish saving for the Galaxy Nexus. Or perhaps I’ll wait for the HTC Endeavor…

  11. Seriously? Half a year after it is a released and people are getting wood that their carrier has finally allowed them the chance to ‘upgrade’ to an already incredibly obsolete version of their OS?

How much would people ridicule iPhone 4 owners if they were just now getting a chance to install iOS 4.1 (5.0.1 being the current version) based on their carrier deciding what OS they could run? That would be a bad joke, but it’s par for the course for the not-at-all fragmented Android ecosystem.

Good luck with that guys. I guess you should be thankful you got the update anyway.

    • The htc desire Hd is a great phone and owners are now happy to get the sense 3.0 beacause it was not suppose to be available for this phone

think about it lets say in 6 months iphone4 user gets an update to get Siri wouldn’t they be happy ? no need to buy back their 600$ phone and they get the same features ‘ marketing feature ‘

  12. Got it this morning as well. I am really liking the new Sense. Seems snappier and the new lock screen is great. Also noticed that, I finally received the new Android market as well.
So far no problems, and battery drain actually seems slower. I was expecting the opposite with the new Sense, but we’ll see…

  13. An update is better than no update! I got it yesterday and it looks great! Lockscreen is fun, weather is much better, 3D homepages, better Contacts, SMS, Mail and Camera app. My only complain is that it also updated the FB version (the new one with “Connection Error” plague) and I would have prefered to keep the old stock 1.6 FB that had no issues.

  14. Its great. Built in task manager right into the quick settings. Alot faster all around. colors are more HD (I fine), a hole slew of new messaging features. Txt in the notification bar is thinned out and more crisp. The widget at the lock screen is what I’ve really been enjoying, without a password its so fast. I hadent noticed that the non live wall papers that scroll as u change home screens actually slow the phone down, so I’m glad that’s fixed. Also-sooo many bugs were fixed especially with messaging, I could hardly txt at times cause of freezing and glitches, force closing. A bit dissapoonted they removed a few of the camera affects, one in particular really lol. kinda also would have been nice if re sizable widgets was part of the update considering that the HD desire prob wont get ic,

  15. Don’t unlock through htcdev, you’ll be sorry later. Use AAHK and you’ll have everything unlocked.
