Price point for Bell range from $99.99 to no-term $429.95; Virgin is offering the smartphone for $99.99 on a 3-year and $429 outright. TELUS pricing comes in at $129.99 and tops out at $479.99.

They should just all have a price comparable to, if not lower than, Koodo’s.

How can you convince someone to buy your Bold 9790 when your marketing pitch is basically: “Hey, we’re going to charge up to $80 more than Koodo, but it’s the same phone!” On top of that, they give long contracts and expensive yet limited monthly plans.

It’s almost like they don’t even want to try to sell that Bold 9790. Too bad, so sad.

Why are you complaining on every phone’s price you see? Your biggest power as a consummer is to not buy if you disagree with these pricing strategy.

Thumbing you up doesn’t work. :S Then again, it’s more like a “neutral” comment you posted.

i guess i should be happy for Koodo. It’s just the other companies are basically saying: “buy it from us and you will pay way more!” Ha ha for them.

Thumbing you down work very well for most people in this site btw… But back to buisness: Looking at the financial result of Bell, Telus and Rogers, and it seems they are doing very well compared to all other carrier. And pricing strategy tend to favor long term contract than 30 day buy out. Koodoo is Telus, Solo and Virgin is Bell, and Fido is Rogers. So they are making money out of these carriers too! If people are ready to pay more for a Bell’s phone, then obviously, Bell will not lower their price! Why would they sell a phone for less that they could? Just to make some student happy? Buisness is buisness my friend…

i think it’s just a lot of people misunderstanding what i say, or being so personally offended by it when it’s not meant to be that way.

Anyway, there’s almost no comments here. :( Nobody’s interested in buying the BlackBerry Bold 9790?

I think RIM is in a lose-lose situation; with BES and BBM acting up, people are reluctant. More so, as they plan on releasing BBX devices early next year, why even bother buy a blackberry now?

It might just be me, but people may believe that if BBX isn’t the golden ticket RIM need, RIM is done, so why bother invest in a potentially dead OS/infrastructure?
