Galaxy Nexus gets gently torn open, shows inner workings

Sure the Galaxy Nexus is slim, sleek and comes packed with OS 4.0 and a 4.5-inch display. Some people enjoy seeing devices put through a drop test, go head-to-head with other “superphones” and even put through blenders. The folks over at iFixit decided to continue their good work by tearing down, ripping apart if you will, the Galaxy Nexus. This pure Android device has been given a “Repairability Score” of 6 out of 10 (10 is easiest to repair). In addition, a word of caution to those who are going to attempt this, iFixit states that “the glass is fused to both the display and the display frame. So don’t crack the glass unless you’re good with a heat gun, or you’re fond of replacing the glass, display, and frame together ($$$)”. It’ll be interesting to read the total cost of parts for the Galaxy Nexus compared to the outright selling cost.
