Mobilicity launches the BlackBerry Torch 9810 for $499.99 outright

Now most of our Canadian carriers have the QWERTY touchscreen BlackBerry Torch 9810, but none have this BlackBerry 7OS smartphone priced as low as Mobilicity does. The no contract prices range between $549 to $599 and Mobilicity has released the 9810 for a low $499.99 – plus put a gentle reminder in the press release about their current promo that offers “$10 data and $5 BlackBerry Internet Service add-ons for 50% off for up to a year”.

Something to consider, but just remember the HTC AMAZE is en route.
The 9810 hasn’t made it on their website yet.

    • Anything that starts with Mobilicity you just go bashing dont you WIND fanboy.

If you knew anything about buisness you’d realise that in order to be a company to get any sort of funding, there would need to be some sort of 5 yr outlook. Maybe Mobi is under-cutting WINDS Oh Canadia plan? derpderp, how stupid can you be bro. For up to a year you can get their 55 plan/2 for identical questionable service.

1 yr of 25.50/month or 1 yr of 29/month with half as much.

  3. I dont know why people call mobilicity desperate. It is because of companies like them and Wind that other companies have lowered their prices. I am still with fido but when my contract runs out at the end of the month i am headed to mobilicity.

  4. Now only if they launched the HTC Amaze 4G, not a fan of Blackberry … but good to know that as always Mobilicity undercuts WIND Mobile’s phone prices lol.

    • My guess is Mobi is selling it at a slight loss or Wind is selling it at a slight profit.

My guess is the actual cost is somewhere in the middle of both Mobi and Winds prices.

  5. Is this the same 9810 that is available at TELUS? Can I use my TELUS version and switch to mobilicity?

    • Unfortunately the Telus version doesn’t have the 1700 MHz (AWS) frequency that Mobilicity/Wind/Videotron/T-Mobile use.
      So it won’t work.

      Telus 9810
      Tri-band 3G UMTS network: 2100/1900/850/800MHz
      Quad-band GSM/GPRS networks: 850/900/1800/1900MHz

      Mobilicity/Wind 9810 TBD

  6. Why not just buy the phone unlock it and put you wind chip in it.

    • because people aren’t that stupid. Mobi offers a better network, better plan pricing……Wind doesn’t have much, sorry to say.

  9. F**k… Alex, you are a such a douche I can’t even put it in to words. Every time I read something that has “Alex Perrier” attached to it I die a little bit inside. Just go hang out on BGR or something. You’re like a carbonated douche drink that won’t fizz out. It’s as if you check these forums 100 times a day to ensure that you keep your douche-as-you-go is topped up at all times.
