Rumoured “HTC Zeta” is a powerhouse Android 4.0 with a 2.5GHz quad-core processor

Last week there was a couple rumours of some upcoming and very powerful HTC Android devices. First it was the HTC “Edge”, this is pegged at becoming the world’s first quad-core Android smartphone. The HTC “Ville” soon followed and is expected to come loaded with Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Today, a brand spanking new device has been rendered and leaked online. The “Zeta” will possibly come stacked with specs: 2.5GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor, OS 4.0, a 4.5-inch 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, 8MP camera that shoots 1080p HD videos,1.3MP front-facing camera and a 1,830mAh battery. As for the overall look, the Zeta has a unibody design and measures in at 109.8 x 60.9 x 9.8mm, with a weight of 146 grams. If HTC comes through then 2012 will be a banner year for them.

  3. With an 1830 mAh battery, that 2.5GHz quad core will be crazy-fast for 15 minutes.

  14. Get rid of the capacitive buttons – android 4.0, baby. Get a better battery. Even out the shape a little – i like it, but the side view looks fat. Conquer the world. That is more powerful than the two computers I have on my desk right now combined.

    • The theory of having a 4+1 core device giving solid battery life seems solid, but I have my doubts about it being effective in a first gen device.

  20. 4 cores + lte should last a whole hour before you use up one of your 4 spare batteries. A marvel of technology nonetheless. Why not build in a solar panel on the back?

It’s up to the companies whether or not to use them on the phones.
That being said….holy sh*t…time to install some PC games on this phone.

  29. I like how people are speculating on the speculations. lol. battery life complaints on unreleased products, and who needs that much power? Might as well pick up an 80′s brick phone if you go by that logic.

Before iPhone came into play, everyone is saying about how smartphones are only for business people or enthusiasts, and that they would never use the internet on such a small screen. When the first camera phone came out, everyone is questioning it’s usefulness. Look at us now..This is why people with vision for the future are successful, the rest just follows..

Zelda? Best game ever. Period. Classics rule.

Anyway..Lol.. Late night.. Woo hoo phones

  38. You know, there’s said about why computers with this much computing power are as bug as they are. Cooling units, larger batteries, better ram, there’s more to computing power then just the processor. We will be there someday in the smartphones department, but right now I can’t help but wonder how this phone will actually turn out

  43. Why are they stuck with 1RAM and 1,3 front camera? They put a 8 in the back but can’t upgrade the front more than this for a year-long.. is it because they are recycling all those old webcam that nobody buys?!

  44. For some reason the design has a dated feeling to it for me. Hope the camera lens glass is pretty recessed or it looks like it might have some scratching issues. I like the specs though, can’t wait to see what Samsung does with quad core phones.

  47. What most people are forgetting is that 2.5GHz Mobile phone processor is not anywhere the same like a 2.5GHz Intel I3 or I5 processors. It can’t even be compared even to Mobile Laptop processors at the same speed. If you ever were to put normal processor at that speed it wouldn’t even turn on.

There is no way to compare it as the Transistor count is much much different. It has a lot less transistors and so it’s not the same and isn’t in the same category. If you believe it’s the same then you really have to come out of your delusional world.
