Video: Nokia’s WP7 Sea Ray leaks online, boots up for pleasure

Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop quickly demoed their upcoming Windows Phone a few weeks ago, an orchestrated PR move made out to look “super confidential”. The Sea Ray prototype looks like the Nokia N9, but packs Windows Phone “Mango” OS.

A leaked video has now surfaced online and shows off the device booting up, along with a good look at the hardware. Build quality looks very nice, everything seems to be on the right hand side: power button, Volume rockers and dedicated camera button, not sure on how many megapixels the camera is but it has Carl Zeiss optics (N9 has an 8 megapixel camera). In addition, there’s a cover over the microUSB port, 3.5mm headset jack is on the top and it looks to be powered by a Qualcomm processor.

What do you think?

  2. A good step in the right direction. We need go apps and decent hardware to have this device stand out.

  3. I’m as excited about this device as so many others were excited by the Galaxy S2.

  4. One of the unknown specs needs to be a WOW if they want to get anywhere with this phone, whether it’s a crazy camera, or insane processor, Nokia needs this to be a hit

    • Don’t forget this is one of 10 phones coming out. Nokia wants all to be a hit, personally this is going to be a lower/midrange phone so it would work by appealing to the right market. I am sure there is a super nokia wp7 on the works considering if Samsung is making a wp7 based off the gs2.

I really like this but even as a wp7 lover, I still think this particular phone looks better with meego. I want to see what else is in their pipeline.

    • This phone seems to be anything but exciting.
It is probably an affordable entry in the WP7 market, likely to be followed by a wider devices range.

This strategy will certainly invoke the forum trolls very soon, writing about the Nokia demise again.

  7. They should work on a WP7 device that can be bought without data. That would be my first choice for sure.
