Samsung Galaxy 550 released by SaskTel

This isn’t the Galaxy that most people are craving in Canada, but SaskTel has released the Samsung Galaxy 550. This runs Android OS. 2.1, has as a 2.8-inch display and will run you $249.99 outright. There are other plans available such as the 3-year for $29.99, but think about it first… for an extra 50 buck wouldn’t you rather make it worthwhile and get the latest and greatest Android, the Samsung Galaxy S II?! SaskTel stated they will launch this beauty will be $79.99 on a 3-year.

  4. This is not serious, Android 2.1? Tell me you’re joking.
Releasing a phone running an obsolete OS version is doing nothing good for the platform.

  5. If it doesn’t require data it might be good for those people who want to get their food in the door. Otherwise its not recommend at virgin where I work I hardly ever sellsbthese with data plans just voice plans which is perfectly fine IMO

  6. Phone itself is fine..but V2.1 is not good as a lot of apps require 2.2 or are moving toward that.

  7. Are you sure Sasktel is going to sell GalaxyS 2 at $79 on a 3year contract?

  8. I have my doubts that they will sell GS2 at $79. I will believe it when I see it.

  9. Guys this is an excellent phone and will sell very well for one simple fact. it doesnt require a data plan thus your paying it only 25-30$ a month and u have internet when u are on a wi-fi network to download your apps. this is why that phone is interesting. also for those who lost their phones 250$ for an android device isnt bad.
