Motorola XOOM now available at TELUS

Not to out shadow the launch of the BlackBerry PlayBook but TELUS has released the Android-powered 3.0 Motorola Xoom. This 10.1-inch dual-core 1GHz tablet is available for $599.99 and you can grab it here at TELUS

    • no one SHOULD be waking up early for the PlayBook either given you can get it at at least one shop on every corner, but to each their own.

  2. Ordered mine from future shop yesterday morning. Their shipping sucks so bad it still hasn’t gone out. I could probably cancel and order from telus and have it tomorrow but kinda seems weird buying from a cell service provider especially when it is wifi only.

  3. One thing I noticed…the Motorola Portfolio case (which is an awesome fit on the XOOM) is 10$ cheaper at TELUS… its 39.99$ and I payed 49.99$ at Futureshit…

  5. It might be worth buying from telus if they offer the theft/loss/anger control issues insurance that they offer on their mobile device and just put the cost on your current telus bill. I doubt they offer this though…

  6. I saw and played with one for a while today… also a Playbook. Motorola didn’t get it right. The Playbook is too small and too limited for my needs. Apple did get it right. I never thought I’d own an Apple product let alone say those words.

  7. We received our XOOM today for development purposes. I spent a fair amount of time with it.
There is NO WAY this tablet can compete with the iPad. Honeycomb is absolutely not ready for prime time. It has neither the finish, the speed, the smoothness nor the user experience expected for a tablet OS.
Nothing, except a profound hatred toward Apple, can justify to spend this amount of money on a XOOM over an iPad (both are around the same price).

    • To Honeycomb’s defense, I’ll wait for our other Android tablet to arrive before confirming my judgement. The Motorola hardware platform could be the culprit here.

wait for the samsung galaxy tab 8.9 and 10.1 :)
even thinner and MUCH lighter than the ipad2

and apple DID NOT get it “just right” with their ipad.
i’ve seen it at the apple store, that thing is just too damn heavy. only thing its useful for is weight training.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will.
Also, note that I never said the iPad was perfect. It is just the best tablet experience right now. By far.
