Koodo officially states the Android LG Optimus One is “coming soon”

We let you know a couple weeks ago that the LG Optimus One was hitting the Koodo shelves soon… and now “El Tabador” has officially announced their first Android device is “Coming soon to Koodo”. Still no word on price points but it’ll probably hit the 200 no-contract mark.

  1. What a surprise!
The LG Optimus One is already available at TELUS … and Koodo is owned by TELUS.

  3. For the 2 lovely people nagging about the phone.. Umm it’s KOODO! It’s Telus’ discount sub-company like fido and solo for bell and rogers. They obviously are not going to have a “SUPER AMAZING” android phone with them. I think it’s great that this is their first android phone. It’s a pretty good basic phone for android.

    • But, the thing is, that you could get a much better device with virgin for the same price (galaxy s running 2.2 or htc legend)

    • Woooooot: Sure, you COULD do that but you’re either tied in to a 3 year contact or a ridiculously stupid STUper tab agreement.

Where as with this, the most you owe to buy out is going to be 150.

Being that telus charges 200 for this outright, I’m banking 25 or 50 on tab.

  4. The way I see it, this is like getting an iPhone 3GS for $200 off-contract. God deal for the price.

  6. I emailed them before, and now i got what I’ve wanted, but I would prefer the Motorola Spice over this since of its form factor and physical keyboard, so I am still not sure if I should switch to Bell and get a Palm Pre for 2 year contract and 35$ a month.

  7. I’m currently using this phone on Telus. It has a good battery life and the screen has good brightness, in fact you can use it in the lowest brightness setting no problem. I use it as a prepaid with a data add on. It works ok, although it needs a reboot every couple of days. One thing that I would like is a faster processor, but for $200 it’s not a bad phone. My wife has the Galaxy Fascinate – larger and nicer screen with a faster processor, but the battery life sucks compared to the Optimus One.

  8. I just tried to upgrade to one of these Koodo phones and was told by the rep that I would have to extend my plan to include a data option. I therefore declined. There was bound to be a scam attached to this device and I guess that was it.

I don’t need and will never use a data connection. I can get all the internet I need via the Wi-Fi connection. Time to ditch Koodo and go find another no contract phone carrier.
