The Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate and all its 4-inch Super AMOLED goodness will be launched by TELUS on November 10th. There is a launch event in Toronto to celebrate this device (learn more here) Looking for price points… we’ve been informed that this Android 2.1 device (will be upgraded to 2.2 this winter) will be $149.99 on a 3-year contract and tops up at $529.99 no-contract. In addition, it looks like the “Initial quantities will be limited” so you might want to call ahead a get yourself on a list to secure this beast of phone.

(Thanks tipster!)

Late but at least this product is better than all their WP7 offerings launching these days.

Why is it so hard to find any specs on this? Does anyone know if it has a flash and front facing cam?

    • roulez

      No front facing camera.
      No flash.
Same specs as the Captivate on Rogers and the Vibrant on Bell.

Those are not the correct specs. Those are the Verizon specs.

The TELUS device is HSPA not CDMA.

  • Jonathan

ur rite MrFlooD the only difference is the Data GPRS No
EDGE No 3G Rev. A, up to 3.1 Mbps everything else is actually telus spec

  • jb

Actually, according to the Telus specs on their site, and the 360 view showing the back of the camera, there is NO LED flash, so it is not the same as the Verizon specs.

    • Mike

It doesn’t surprise me. We always get screwed over here in Canada. Especially today with the WP7 release. Everyone in the US is able to pick a Windows Phone 7 today, but almost no one in Canada is able to, even though Bell and Telus said they were launching it today. Other countries have had the Fascinate for months now. And not only do we get it last, we geat the cheap version, and ours is the only Fascinate in the world that doesn’t even have a camera flash. It doens’t help either that Canada has one of the highest phone rates in the world, we also have the worst selection and get everything much later and a lot more expensive than other countries. Sometimes a good product doesn’t even come to Canada at all.

    • Jazzy

I noticed that as well. Seems like this version wont have camera flash after all.

  • Someone

Mike, you are a cry baby.

  • dove1

well FML I was really hoping for great things from this Telus and this release. I really just want a front facing cam and an LED flash, do any of the Galaxy variations offer this?

  • Joe

Bell has the Galaxy S Vibrant with a FF cam. Why not just buy that, unlock it, and use it on Telus. Problem solved. You have a wide variety of phones to chose from.

  • alan

if you were going to do that, why not just use it on Bell instead? All the operators are much of a muchness. Just go with the one with the best phone.

  • Gavin

i have maybe a half dozen friends with the i phone 4 … i took a poll to discover who is using the FF camera. ZERO for six!

  • RK

Thanks guys! I called my nearest Telus store (Vaughan Mills mall). Since this phone hasn’t been officially released, the rep could not hold it for me. He didn’t even confirm that the Fascinate is being released tomorrow. lol. Any ideas where I can “prebook” this phone?

  • Trex

I was just able to order the phone through “Upgrade/renew your phone” in my Telus account area.

  • RK

I just tried that. I see every single phone except the Fascinate. I actually qualify for a free upgrade (any phone). I even see the 32 gig iphone 4. But… i want the Fascinate. Am i strange or what? Rejecting a $260 phone (on 3-yr term) for a $150 one!

  • CB

So, which Cdn Samsung Galaxy actually has a camera flash??

    • Dennis

looks like the vibrant, captivate, and Fascinate all do not have a flash. :(

  • Jay

    Droid Crazed

  • Joe

Why the hell would they bring in a phone that does not have a flash or FF camera? They must have some clause in their deal with Apple, that they cant. There is no other good reason. If we are all pissed off about it, we all need to complain about it. Maybe your bitching and complaining will change things. The world is so wrapped up with Apple crap,I this, and I that.

    What about me? The consumer?
