White iPhone 4 delayed until Spring 2011

This is a bit disappointing. After Apple stating that the white version of the iPhone 4 would be delayed because it’s “more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected”. Rumour has it that it’s the the suppliers are having trouble matching the white home button colour to the white front face plate.

Today Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller stated that “We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone yet again, but we’ve decided to delay its release until this Spring.” Not the end of the world but it would be nice to have another colour.

  4. whats the point of promoting a phone in multiple colours if they cant manufacture them?. isnt that considered false advertisement?. if the home button is SOOO hard to make fit on the phone they shouldnt have ever mentioned it in the first placed and dropped the colour. either way the black one is much sleeker and prettier to look at.(though I hate apple products, i would personally pick the black over the white anyway, and im sure many people would agree with me.)

    and what, they are going to release the white Iphone 4 in spring, and by july steve jobs will probably be introducing the 5th gen Iphone? so either way isnt it a complete loss for the consumer who has been and will be waiting another 6 months for a phone that will (by then…actually it was even before it came out) pretty much be dead technology by the time it comes out. Its pretty sad that Apple will be screwing over clients once again just to make a few mill before the new phones come out.

    THATS PATHETIC APPLE, PATHETIC! apple fails HARD. money grubbers.

  6. SCREW THIS! THIS IS GARBAGEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting forever for this damn piece of s**t to come out! I got the small black one while I wait, but I want more memory! NOW!!! Fucking apple, every other manufacturer seems to be able to make white phones! BAHHHHH!

    • they are waiting till you (the consumer) cant take it anymore and are ready to get your hands on anything, THEN they will release the white version, and within 2 months a new generation of Iphones will come out, and you (the consumer) will be screwed over, but no fear, peoples addiction to new technology ias so bad, apple knows you will buy the new phone as it comes out anyway, in turn making you spend 800$ in march, and another 800$ in july.

      its a good way to make more money, dig into the pockets of your consumers TWICE, its sure to make the gross of your product “twice as popular” and the company 2 times richer.

  8. Then there’s no point of it ever coming out. The iPhone 5/4G will be out soon after and the iPhone 4 will be an after thought…

    • its a way for Apple to squeeze as much money out of the consumers pocket as they can.. by then the phone will be on sale at 400$ with a contract and on sale, people are going to be like OMFG IPHONE! and they will buy one.

      its a way of milking the cow. depressing isnt it?

  9. I am just about fed-up with this whole white iPhone saga… Not only is it incredibly ridiculous, it’s become yet another annoying drama about things “coming soon”. Sigh. Make the bloody thing on time or just forget about it!

  11. I don’t understand how they had white ones MADE but can’t manufacture more?? They had the white one for demo purposes and some have been shipped out, so where did those come from? Makes no sense. Apple should just scrap the white one. But of course they are huge money grabbers, so they’ll release it just to make a few bucks :S .. but people that know Apple aren’t stupid. Why buy an old white 4 when the new iPhone 5 will be a few months away? I’m assuming sales will be extremely low when the white one comes out. But who knows. I feel sorry for the ones that do decide to get it.

    • They have white ones, they’re floating around everywhere, but the colour isn’t quite perfect. And Steve Jobs won’t release it to the public until the colour is PERFECT.

      It’s definitely going to be smarter to wait for the iPhone 4s (I doubt they’ll call the next one the iPhone 5). I think Apple is betting on those folks who don’t KNOW that June/July means a new iPhone release every year (there are a LOT of people in this group – hell, even people that read *this* site fall into that category, there were commenters complaining about the iPhone 4 release, saying they had just bought a 3GS 2 months before), and will end up getting one in March or April without realizing it.

  12. yeah that’s what i wanna do, but this in the spring then then 3 months later the iPhone 5 or whatever they wanna call it comes out, and im stuck with the old one. genius. i’ll stick with my reliable 3Gs til next summer :)

  13. So it’s ok for Steve Jobs to release a phone with antenna problems, but they can’t release a phone with an off colored button? Make the home button black or silver or something. I’m sure most people wouldn’t care. They just want the white one.
