The once coming soon BlackBerry Torch 9800 was then delayed until October 1st has now been officially launched by Bell… only through online purchases. Even better news is that they have reduced the price on the 3-year contract to $179.95. Other price points of this new touchscreen/slider QWERTY are 2-year $449.95, 1-year at $549.95 and the no-contract price is $599.95.

Bell states that if you can “Order online and your Torch will ship on September 29th. Available in store on September 30th.”

Anyone getting the Torch? It’s the first device in Canada to have RIM’s new BlackBerry 6 OS…

They have low balled the competition. Will Rogers/Bell have to respond?

Or is Bell doing this because the Desire Z/Desire HD is coming?
