With all the promotions flying around to sway customers to sign up for a new device, if you’ve been waiting, dreaming and holding out for the Palm Pre to drop in price… you better put your jacket, scarf and gloves on and start heading over to the closest WirelessWave.
They’ve come in a cool $99.95 less than Bell locations and priced the touchscreen/full QWERTY keyboard device at $0.00 on a 3-year, that’s right… the sweet sound of free. We thought the Pre was a good deal at $49.95 but you cannot get better than free!
Anyone going to bite on this price?

maybe if it was free on a 2 year contract, people would buy them.

I haven’t heard anything about the Pre in months. As expected, it was released to fanfare and now lies dead with barely anyone developing for it. Why they decided they needed their own OS I have no idea.

If it was HSPA I’d already have one

Its interesting to see the big 3 react to WIND this way. Drop a bunch of phones to 0.99 or free to try and lock people out of moving to WIND for 3 years.
Pretty smart I think, but I hope it fails.
Anyway two major wins already for consumers with the added competition….the death of the SAF (Rogers excluded) and now increased subsidies for lower prices.
Die 3 year contract die!

I am hoping one of the cellphone companies blows the pants of the industry by doing a Verizon style BOGO promotion.
Right now on a two year contract, Verizon is having a 2 for 1 promo on most of their phones, including Blackberry.
