Rogers and Fido launch “My Account” iPhone app

rogersfidoappiconNow that all the carriers have the beloved iPhone in their lineup there’s not much separating them except for monthly rate plans and the battle between who’s “the fastest and most reliable”… but now it’s happened. Rogers and Fido have stepped up the game and launched their own iPhone app called “My Account”.

The app is available for free in the AppStore and gives you 24/7 access to your account from your iPhone. You can view your Voice, Data and Messaging usage, see your current balance and even make a payment. The app is available in English and in French and requires OS 3.0 or later bit does not support Corporate or Prepaid customers. We’ve been informed that it updates every 10-15 minutes (supposedly faster than checking the Rogers/Fido website or calling into Customer Service).

Download from the AppStore, search “Rogers” or “Fido” and you’ll find My Account app.
(Thanks Andrew)

    1. Yet another app that set the iphone above other devices. I currently have the Storm 1 on Telus. I am thinking of making the switch over to the iphone. Its seems like little things like apps above set it apart. Its going to take maybe a bit more to get me away from my bbm.

Maybe the HD2 in due time…

    2. LOL,

Bell has Self Serve via web on phone for YEARS.

This is just a shinyer version of it, nice try rogers.

Why not do some competitive pricing?

While Bell has had this, its still a mobile web experience which is clunky and sub-optimal (trust me, I worked on the project!). The UX alone is enough for me to not use it…

Can’t agree more! I have been using the Self Serve web on my windows mobile phone for almost a year and a half now. It’s very useful to track minutes used, msgs, internet, and pay bill from phone…etc.

allthough you have had tha option to view these details via fido.ca They still have not told cutomer service reps anything of these abilty…. finally i dont need to tell customers “you gotta wait till your invoice is releaced to see if your incuring overage charges”

    9. You mean Fido will finally tell me how many daytime minutes I’ve used for the month?

Of course I’ll be able to go on their website and see this information for my account, right?

      Right?
