Rogers and Fido officially release $150 15GB plan

iphoen-3GSIt certainly has taken a bit of time for this one too land. Not sure how many people will actually go for it but Rogers has confirmed they have officially released the “Data Plan for Heavy Users”. This was originally targeted for a June 16th date but got pushed back.

If you go way over your current plan this might be the one for you. Rogers says this $150 15GB plan “… is a special plan that is applicable to a very small number of customers – care and sales reps are trained to help identify which customers this would apply to. If a customer needs greater amounts of data than our existing in-market plans, Rogers will recommend this plan based on their usage. Customers should call their business account reps to discuss.”  The “Data Plan for Heavy Users” is available for both Rogers Wireless and Fido.

Also, their latest $30 6GB promotion is officially expiring on September 15th.

  1. Exorbitantly expensive. Mind boggling, especially since I get unlimited for $15 from Telus.

  2. Brutal, man i hate canadian carrier data rates. When there is now an unlimited voice plus data plan on sprint in the US for $70, how can they justify screwing the canadian consumer like this.

  3. This is pathetic.

    You can have unlimited data, 400 daytime, unlimited evenings/weekends on Bell for $60/mo., and i’m sure the Pre sucks way more data than an iphone due to it’s amount of services.

    Wow, Rogers, wow! Slowly sinking the ship.

  4. Yeah, I would of thought this was great had I not been to a Bell store recently. I used to dislike Bell Mobility (bad experience years ago), but honestly, some of their plans and phones are really competitive and enticing, especially compared to this crap.

    The only reason I haven’t canceled my Fido account yet that I’m waiting to see what Bell will do with that 4G network of theirs. But the chances of my renewing with Rogers/Fido are getting slimmer.

    They will be launching LTE in probably 2012ish like the rest of the carriers.. they will all be on pace to do it at the same time.

    Rogers claims to have the fastest network, yes, they have the fastest technology with HSPA+, BUT, what difference does it make when there are absolutely no phones in the market that support speeds of up to 22mb/s. That’s the Rogers marketing right there.

    I will stay GSM because I believe in it, and it is better than CDMA. As far as company goes, Bell is ahead of Rogers now, but, I cannot go CDMA with all the problems it has.

  8. All you people claiming you get unlimited data for cheaper are forgetting the BIGGEST point: The Fido & Rogers 15GB plan is actually REAL data, not like your crappy on-phone-only data plans.
    I don`t want any data plans which don’t let me connect to my laptop or PC for real surfing, thank you.

    You cannot get 15GB of real data for $150 on Telus, Bell, AT&T, or anywhere else on this side of the world. This Fidogers plan is extremely good for the heavy users, but not so good for the kids who only want to surf on their little 3-inch phone screens (and those people don’t need 15GB’s anyway, give me a break)

    15GB is meant for tethering and PC cards, not for Blackberries lol.

  9. Rogers offers a $30 Flex Data Plan that capps the overage at $100….which is less than $150 and essentially UNLIMITED….so why would i go with $150/150GB?? And what’s the overage charge on that????
