Much of Samsung’s recent focus has been on the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The two flagship smartphones were officially launched on March 11 and it now seems the company is ready to unveil its next Android device to Canadians.
According to sources, the Galaxy J1 (2016) will officially launch in Canada on April 13th. We have learned that the entry-level smartphone will be available at Bell and also at most Canadian carriers. Unfortunately, the price for the J1 has not been confirmed.
The Galaxy J1 features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.3 GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Galaxy J1 sports a 2,050 mAh battery and is powered by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It’s still unclear if the device will be upgraded to Marshmallow at some point in the future.

Update: According to sources at Telus, the Samsung Galaxy J1 will be available on April 7th for $150.
