Fresh off the heels of exclusively launching Sony’s Xperia Z5, Bell has announced it will release the larger, 4K-equipped Xperia Z5 Premium in the coming weeks. The official date and pricing are not yet known, but the device should arrive before the end of the month.
The Xperia Z5 Premium is similar to the 5.2-inch Xperia Z5 but ups the screen size and resolution to an impressive 5.5-inch 3840 x 2160 LCD panel.
The rest are fairly routine these days: an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 23MP Exmor RS rear camera with an F2.0 lens, a 5MP front-facing camera and a 3,430mAh battery that promises two days of use. It also has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the side-mounted power button.
The Z5 Premium is rated IP68 water resistant and dust proof, and will launch with Android 5.1.1 out of the box, with the promise of an upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow early next year.
