Truth: “The Samsung Galaxy MEGA is built for awe-inspiring experiences.” This is mainly because of its massive 6.3-inch display. Samsung Canada confirmed the release of this phablet ‘in the coming weeks’ to various carriers. So far Bell, TELUS, Koodo and Rogers have all signed up to offer the Galaxy Mega and yesterday we reported that the launch date is set for August 29th.
For those located in Saskatchewan, regional carrier SaskTel has just announced its intentions to release the Mega, specifically noting that it’s ‘coming soon.’ There’s no word on the price points. It also seems that Samsung, as expected, will indeed target this Android to a younger back-to-school demographic as they say users can “chat with friends and stream videos side by side. Carry it like a smartphone, use it like a tablet.”
The Galaxy Mega has a 6.3-inch 720p display, powered by Android OS 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, 1.7Ghz dual-core processor, 16GB internal memory and holds up to 64GB with a microSD card, 1.5GB RAM, 3,200 mAh battery, 8MP camera and a 1.9MP front-facing camera.
