Bell & Virgin devices now available at The Source

Rogers had a long relationship with retail giant The Source as all their phones were well stocked in the stores across Canada. Back in March news came that Bell scooped up all 765 locations for $135 million and declared their devices will be available starting January 1st, 2010.

George Cope, President and CEO of Bell said the main reason for the acquisition was because it “supports Bell’s strategic imperatives to accelerate wireless and leverage momentum in wireline services like Bell TV, Bell Internet and Bell Home Phone”.

So Rogers is out, Bell and Virgin Mobile is in. If you check out TheSource.ca you’ll see they have wasted no time stating “New Cell Phones Just Arrived”. You can find all Bell and Virgin devices from the iPhone, to Bold 9700, Samsung Link to Internet Sticks. Prices seem to be the same but The Source we hear will act independently so I’m sure deals are on the way.

Over the next few weeks a redesign is on the way also. The goal is to reach a younger audience. Wade Oosterman, President of Bell Mobility, previously said “The idea is to make it super convenient for people to actually buy those products and services. The Source has products already today that create traffic from youth and The Source will give additional reasons for youth to come and visit coming January 2010. Virgin has a particularly fine focus on youth. This is an environment that is a comfortable environment for tech savvy clients.”

So with Bell and Virgin devices now available will you flock to The Source?
