If you have an iPhone (or iPod Touch) you can keep your baby powered up and look super chic at the same time. This “holster” or as the product page says “iPhone Battery Case – Portable On The Go Recharging” can be yours for $25.79 Canadian. It’s made of “quality sheepskin and environmentally friendly ABS plastic” and has a lithium-ion battery pack jammed inside which you connect to your iPhone

According to a fresh post on HowardForums, PC Mobile is set to launch the LG 160 ($59 alone, or with a bundle for that includes a Bluetooth headset and car charger for $89). The Motorola KRZR K1m will only be avaialble as a bundle that includes a Bluetooth headset and car charger for $149. Both could be available August 7th.

CRTC issued its first “annual report on the communications industry”. Specifically for the wireless sector:

- The wireless market was the largest sector of the telecommunications industry with revenues of $14.4 billion, an increase of 14.4% from $12.6 billion in 2006. Overall, wireless revenues accounted for 38% of
all telecommunications revenues and grew at an annual rate of 16.2% between 2003 and 2007.

- There were 20.3 million wireless subscribers in 2007, an increase of 8.2% over the previous year.

- Prices for telecommunications services in Canada are in line with those in other countries (including the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Australia)

Samsung Canada released a very cool concept to promote the upcoming August 8th launch of the Instinct. The YouTube video series is kinda “Choose your own Adventure” and allows you to make decisions at the end of each video for the dude. There are 9 videos in total.

Nokia Growth Partners will get an additional $150 million to create and “innovative mobile applications and services that encourage rapid adoption of mobile solutions, such as context and location based services, mobile payments, mobile advertising, music and entertainment and other mobile services and software.” This brings the total investment from Nokia to $250 million since 2004.

If you are into getting advertising sent to your mobile phone, MyScreen and WiseKey released a notice saying you can now “securely opt-in to receive advertisements, credits, coupons and transaction offers”. This has been known for a long time now and finally Motorola and Fido have released the MOTOROKR U9 and is available for $75 with a 3-year Agreement. More info here at Fido.

Bell is looking to bang out a number of new phones in August: LG Wine, Samsung Instinct, BlackBerry Pearl in Titanium and White, HTC Victor, BlackBerry Curve in Red, Sanyo Eclipse and the HTC Touch Dual.

We’ve reported on basically all of the above except the HTC Touch Dual. The big difference between the Touch and the Dual is when you slide the phone up you will find a keypad. Very similar to the original Touch as it is 107 x 55 x 16  and comes in at 120g. This will be available at Bell for $399.95 with the $30 Unlimited Personal Email & Internet plan.
