Talk about sending a message to hold off shopping over the next couple days. Future Shop has already sent out their Boxing Day flyer and inside it has some good deals.

Specifically the Samsung M540 Slyde from TELUS. This launched early November and went straight on sale to $0.00. Kind of reminds me how a movie goes straight to DVD.

However, the deal comes in when you buy this for $0.00 on a 3-year contract Future Shop is throwing in a Blue-ray player for free (valued at $249). Some fine print is that it has to be purchased in-store and only applies to new activations.

The Samsung m540 Slyde (Samsung Rant in the US) is a slide slider with a full QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel camera, GPS, 2.1″ screen, weighs in at 130 grams – comes in Black and Pink.

The game of all games has finally arrived at the Apple App store: Sim City.

This is a great stocking stuffer for any gamer and is published by Electronic Arts’ and can be yours for $9.99. When you are using the touchscreen all you need to do to start building city zones is drag your finger over the area and hit the confirmation button.

Wal-Mart to keep some stores open 24 hours during holidays

Weekend Roundup of Mobile Holiday Deals

As part of our commitment to bring you the hottest mobile offering happening in Canada, below is a roundup of what deals are currently going on with different carriers and retailers:

Bell:
1. Samsung Instinct has been dropped in price to $99.95 on a 3-year contract. You have to be on a monthly voice plan plus have a minimum Fun Bundle 15.

2. HTC Touch Pro has been released. The price plans are as follows: 30-day:$599.95; 1-year: $549.95; 2-year: $449.95 and 3-year: $239.95. There is an additional $50 promo discount with this so it will come to $189.95… however, please read the comments from our unboxing video of the Pro as it seems there are some limitations to the device.

3. The Samsung Cleo and LG Reveal come with a bonus. The Cleo you will get lip gloss and 15% off coupon to Cake Cosmetics, and a Cleo phone “Charm”. The Reveal you can get a pimped out Bluetooth headset with Swarovski crystals.. they call this the “Shimmer Kit”.

4. Looks like the LG Shine is gone from the Bell site for purchase, you might be able to find this at a Bell Store, but we have heard it has been discontinued.

5. If you buy a BlackBerry Curve 8330, Pearl 8130, or 8830 World Edition you’ll get a free decal from Decal Girl and free matching wallpaper for your display. This promo lasts until February 28, 2009.

Rogers:
1. The BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip is $49.99 on a 3-year plan and the BlackBerry Curve 8320 UMA (Talkspot) is $99.99… this is a good deal as you will not waste your minutes.

2. When you buy your mobile online you will get a free $50 Canadian Tire Gift Card.

3. BlackBerry Bold looks like it’s staying at $199.99 for the next little while. This is a $200 price drop since it was originally released back in June.

TELUS:
1. BlackBerry Pearl 8130 has been dropped to $0.00 on a 3-year plan. This comes in several colours such as Pink, Blue, Red, Grey and Black.

2. They also have a promo on for a $50 Gift Card to HBC or Future Shop when you buy online. The devices are the BlackBerry Curve 8330, BlackBerry Pearl 8130, HTC Touch Diamond, LG Dare and Voyager, Samsung Instinct.

3. The Samsung M540 Slyde was just released and is on sale for $0.00 on a 3-year contract. This is lightweight and has a slideout QWERTY keyboard.

4. If you are looking for a great touchscreen at a reasonable cost, go for the LG Dare. It is $99.99 on a 3-year plan and you can see our review here

5. I want the BlackBerry Storm as much as the next person. This new touchscreen is “coming soon”. No updates.

Koodo Mobile:
1. You can pick up the text-friendly LG KEYBO on the Koodo Tab for $75

Virgin:
1. Lots of sales going on at Virgin Mobile… this must mean the BlackBerry Curve is coming soon. We heard by the end of November.

2. BlackBerry Pearl 8130 is $0.00 on a 3-year plan

3. LG Rumour is has been price dropped to $0.00 from $29.99 on a 3-year plan. They also have a promo on with this if you go prepaid you will get 3 months of unlimited texting at no charge.

4. Motorola KRZR K1m was dropped in price a while back and is $29.00 on a 3-year plan.

5. When you activate the Samsung R610, LG Muziq, Motorola RZRZ V9m or the Motorola KRZR K1m online between November 3 and December 31, 2008 you’ll get a $50 Activation Credit. (The credit is only good for 30 days though)

Sony Ericsson:
1. Sony Ericsson Canada is having a “Wireless Freedom” sale that gives you up to $25 off select Bluetooth headsets. This can be good for not getting pulled over by a cop during the holidays.

Future Shop:
1. Selling the BlackBerry Curve 8330 for $49.99 on a 3-year plan ($100 savings).
