So Rogers offers the Blackberry Bold. And it's rumoured to be offering the Blackberry storm soon.
What i wanna know is, do these new blackberry's with the new OS support flash in their browser?

that sucks!
You know what i don't understand.....after all this advancement in technology and specifically the cellular market, why is it soooo difficult for manufacturers to incorporate basic web experiences such as Flash or Java or even Silverlight into a mobile browser?

so true..blackberry 1st hats off to you cause i am addicted to the device, second your improvements might need to setup it up a notch. Atleast with flash support or java, maybe RIM might start to think after the launch of the palm webOS, which in my eyes looks amazing. Thinking of grabbing the pre for a second hand device when it comes to the great north. If it ever does!

Pre is only CDMA at the moment, but Palm is rumoured to be announcing a GSM version very very soon. I don't see why they wouldn't want to have it on as many carriers as possible considering it's Palm's last chance in the handset market.

Well true its there last chance at the handset market but its a guarantee that their WebOS will be a platform to be watching out for in the future. Even though they migh announce it, a few forums have been saying that actual release dates will not be fore seen until Q4.

Palm Pre looks sooooo amazing! its the first phone i've seen that's screen actually flips when u turn the phone upside-down!! LoL its not a big deal but I always wondered if screens can rotate sideways, why not upside down :p
I just hope Pre offers a richer web-experience which more support for web-technologies. Also....DeltaSync for us hotmail users wud be nice but i doubt Microsoft wud allow for that but a guy can always dream right?

To get the FULL version of adobe flash to work it would require a beefy processor and lots of ram.
However, on most symbian phones (n95, e71) the browser supports flash lite and does a really good job, especially when viewing youtube videos.
A few server sided browsers, such as skyfire, works well with incorporating the full browsing experience but I think it still needs a little more tweaking to be perfect.

It really comes down to the issue of RAM and bandwidth. Most Flash-enabled sites have their .swfs pre-loaded into the browser. In which case, a mobile browser will likely not have nearly as much cache space to make Flash speedy, usable, and overall possible. The bandwidth over a mobile connection is another issue. Unless you have a good plan, it's going to be costly. Another issue is that unless you're on a 3G network, it's going to be painfully slow. Lastly, mobile devices have nowhere near the same ability to store information on RAM as do regular computers. Until RAM becomes more miniaturized and cost-effective (judging by the current DRAM market, RAM is actually going UP in prices due to recession and bankruptcy of a major DRAM maker), it's not going to be easy to have Flash support.

Well...i think there is some mis-information out there.
The BB Storm will veiw Youtube videos in the browser without a problem. However, veiwing all flash websites is just not possible.
Apple is working on flash support finally. Hopefully RIM will be close behind.

dont be to excited. It is a horrible device. well at least in my experience. my friend has one, i tried it out and hated it. he did not like it either. He took it back and got the touch pro
the touch pro is not better than the Storm... I think when the app store hits people will embrace it more

i guess it depends person to person. if your looking for a good app store you have to go with the iphone, the blackberry appstore would be better anyway for you if you got a non touchscreen device, (ie, bold, 8900). You should take some time and see what the appstore is like. Then make your decision> if you must have a blackberry, get the Bold.

The WebOS does look amazing. Sadly it clearly violates Apple patents and Palm is going to get sued hardcore. Probably take a couple years of litigation but in the end Palm is going to have to pay Apple heavily or change some stuff.
