Ebay is pretty reliable but you will be paying a lot for customs. SN traders is usually reliable as well. Expansys is probably guaranteed but pretty pricey. Amazon is pretty good too. Of course be careful where you buy your phone from because the customs or duty of shipping the phone to Canada could be $100-300 extra :S not good but hey you will get a decent device good luck :)

Where are you located? I have a great shop here in Montreal that has amazing prices and great service. I get my phones unlocked from them all the time.

let me know :)

arcsvibe, you can always feel free to share the name/website of the shop, might come in handy for someone else. That has nothing to do with the fact that I also reside in the Mtl area, i promise :P

LOL :) check out http://www.gsmphone-unlocking.com/ when you call ask for Wyotin or Kar. These guys are super honest, superior customer service. I unlock all my phones there (and have purchased a couple as well)

Naah, I don't quite like their pricing, it's like in my local Fido store where they also have a selection of unlocked phones with prices at least $100 higher than anywhere else. Thanks for sharing though :) It's always better to have one more option.

No, they have models that are not on the website. I don't know where/how they get them, but they do have a variety of unlocked Nokias, BlackBerrys, etc.
For the unlocking... I read somewhere that if you've been a client for at least one year you can call CS and ask them to give you the unlock code for your unit, telling them you need to travel abroad and you would like to use the local mobile services. Anyone who knows more about it?
