Sadly I am a current sucker, I mean customer of Solo. I am beyond ecstatic that my contract will be ending really soon. Aside from the annoyoing painfully horrible customer service, my biggest problem with Solo is the outrageous and ridiculous price gouging.
Wind Mobile is at the very top of my list, the "My unstoppable plan" for $45 looks pretty sweet, considering my current Solo bill is well over $70.00 a month for my simpleton lg rumor cell.
Is "My unstoppable plan" all that it's cracked up to be ?.
How is the customer service?.
What are the downsides of being with Wind ?.
PLEASE be honest !.
Tyvm :)

what are you waiting for? Try it for a month with one of their cheap phones if you're that cautious, or maybe even buy a used wind phone on kijiji or something

After being in a overpriced 2 year contract with Solo, I am going to be extremely cautious, when choosing my next cell phone provider. I am not looking to shop around and test out cell phones or cell companies, unless they are paying me for my time and opinion. I thought my best bet would be, is to simply ask people straight out about their personal experiences with Wind.
The major issue with wind, for me, is unreliable reception. I've noticed a few service holes in Toronto. One is, ironically, a few meters outside their own store on the Queensway. Other than that, I have no complaints. Hopefully it's something that will get better over time.

I am using Wind for the last two months and my complaint is about the voice quality( it's choppy) especially call to and from outside networks.

Customer service has really long wait times.
They don't have coverage everywhere solo has
Their network is still immature so there are more dead zones (think pre-Rogers Fido)
They have occasional call quality issues (that cell-phone static/breakup)
Data speed is highly dependent on where you are geographically, and the time of day
Despite saying that, I'm not switching out of my Wind plan.

People, on this forum, from the Vancouver B.c. area, how has the coverage and reception been ?.

I'm on the Wind $40 unlimited everything plan in Vancouver. Reception in Van, Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey has been good.
Don't really like the voice quality or the choice of phones, but for $40 for everything, I can live with it. With my plan, I never need to keep track of how many minutes or how much data I use.
The only touchy subject is the upcomming legal issues with Wind. Not sure how thats going to turn out. Otherwise, as long as Winds's around, I'm staying with them.
