Mark this down as a rumour of the day:

I overheard the Bell rep (Eaton Centre) saying they were getting the Omnia, then the Omnia HD and Touch Diamond 2 by the end of year.

Anybody else hear this? Or you think he was blowing smoke?

CreamyGoodness

Sweetness

if it is... then they will be forever to get here. Later than the end of year.

I think I will wait for the Pre... these will take forever to get to Canada (apart from the Omnia... only 3 weeks now.)

NHL icon there, guess they will have the same promo as the BlackBerry where you can stream unlimited NHL content

No idea, my estimate though is that it will come in around $149. Verizon is selling this for $99 now.

looks like you are right Sweetness. Bell will launch April 9th:
http://mobilesyrup.com/2009/03/31/bell-to-release-samsung-omnia-april-9th/

The Bell OMNIA will come with a 2GB card loaded with NHL content and the following prices is for voice only. We are waiting on how the Data packages will reduce the prices:
1-year: $499.95
2-year: $399.95
3-year: $349.95
Outright: $549.95

Most likely you will this for $149.95 after you throw in the monthly data charges, min $45 per month.

becks
03-31-2009, 04:24 PM
$129.95 on a 3-year plan. It's on the bell site now as "Coming Soon"

Skippy101

decent enough price. Cheaper than when the Instinct forst came out.

i still cant get around the fact of how ugly the pre is. I love the OS, but the phone itself. Uggh. Maybe in a few years when my niagara is getting old and a nice looking Web OS phone comes out

my only concern about the Pre is the keyboard size. It looks so tiny and might be touch to type.

Neon
04-05-2009, 11:41 AM
how many months after the Sprint release will Bell get this?

CreamyGoodness
04-05-2009, 09:58 PM
probably the same time. and the keyboard is tiny.

Neon
04-06-2009, 09:21 AM
That is my only concern too. If the keyboard is like the centro than it blows. Even though it has a touchscreen, I like keyboards.

Don't know what the Vice is, but the OMNIA should be available to those on Bell tom.

Hi Y'all,

The CSR at Bell Mobility that I spoke to recently told me that she had heard a 'rumour' that the BlackBerry 9630 NIAGARA was going to be launched by Bell sometime in JUNE '09. I am counting the days until then.

I think I got around $200 for an upgrade available, might get the Niagara or Pre. I though I would go for the OMNIA but think I would get frustrated with the touchscreen and no actual keys.

I was thinking about getting the Flip and have some money on an upgrade, might get a BlackBerry Curve. Just cannot see myself with a Flip in 3 years. :o

Slight form-factor differences, noticably better screen, different keyboard (4 rows instead of 3, emoticon quick-key), but otherwise, same feature set. The build seems a little more solid as well.
