Hi guys, I have caller ID on my plan, and I'm using the Blueant Q1 headset. Unfortunately, the Q1 does not tell me a contact's name when calling, it just reads off the number. Is there an app that can do this for me?

Thanks,
Falross

Thats something you have to get from your carrier. I know Rogers charges $2/month for it and I'm not to sure about the other carriers.

Well it seems that it's up to my Bluetooth according to Telus.

Please somebody prove them wrong.

If the number is already in your contacts I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. If it's not then I doubt it. What there needs to be is an app that automatically does a reverse look-up of the number when you get a call and displays the search result!

Yeah, but my phone already does that. I want my BT to tell me who's calling eg. "Call from Bob" vs. "Call from 4035551234". that would make it a bit easier to keep track of who's calling, rather than having 5 seconds to remember who's number that is, and weather or not I want to answer the call. While driving.

You can get Q2, it will announce caller's name in your contact and read sms message. Download the Q1/Q2 app.

i get what your trying to accomplish,

have you checked to see if your headset compatible with that function? perhaps its only able to recite the number rather than the address book contact you've assigned to that number
