Samsung doesn't seem to have a whole lot of backing for the Android platform. Motorola or HTC will likely release an Android phone for Bell before Samsung does.

I doubt that as well that Samsung will be dropping a device on Bell, as urbnlgcy said i could see Motorola and HTC releasing one, but mid 09' i disagree with that. In my opinion i think we might see the G1 be released here before any other type of Android device hits the Canadian market.

Would they not market it the same way or similar to TMobile did with the G1?

kind of believe the rumour now because samsung is planning on releasing their android device not at MWC but internally right after. I read this article quoted by samsungs official.

Well T-mobile announces that they sold 1 million G1s, and all of a sudden, we have Android phones popping up all over the place. HTC has a new android coming out, and Samsung and Motorola are leaking things all over the place. We will get something arround here sometime soon, but who knows where.

Its new? Really just the fact that its opened sourced, meaning you can do literaly anything you want with it, part of the OHA (open handset allaince) Here just read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_OS

I think we will be able to see more of what it can do the more that new handsets are being released. Really for now all that's been released is the T-Mobile G1, but the HTC Magic is being released on T-Mobile soon and looks like Samsung and SE will be releasing Android phones soon. I can't wait to see what will happen.

Motorola just leaked a couple of android phones, the "Ironman" and (wait for it) the "Calgary". Looks like androids are busting out all over the place, just not here.

Way to go Creamy, lol!
I would like to see LG's attempt in the competition of the Androids, especially the 2nd generation of the KS360/Neon, which supposedly will be part of the OHA family :)

How come Rogers is taking all the glory with the Android launches.. where is Bell or TELUS. Even the new kid on teh block DAVE Wireless said they are launching an Android device.
anyone have any updates on this happening with Bell?

I think it has to do with the fact that T-Mobile in the US was the first carrier to bring out an Android device and they are a GSM carrier. AFAIK the HTC Android devices are only GSM. Not sure what we will see from Samsung and Motorola who will be releasing Android handsets, I hope we see some CDMA love from them.

I doubt that Bell will carry an Android device in 2009.
