I have just gotten of the phone with Telus yet again for the billionth trouble ticket related to the poor operation of my 8350i and they tell me that Tels and RIM are working closely and an update to the OS is expected very soon.
How many people have bought this?
(Can you just return yours as you are having so much trouble with it?)

Spoke to Telus again and they are still saying by the end of the month for an OS update for 8350i ... we will see !!!

Latest news is that April 3rd will be the release date for the US OS update for the 8350i ... the release has been delayed by 2 weeks to try and fix more issues before its release ... We will see !!!

The newest OS for the 8350i has been released in the US and is 4.6.1.204 and can be downloaded from the BB site.

appears some things maybe fixed, but others like sms/mms still do not work !!!

When speaking with Telus on Friday, they have confirmed there is a new update coming that will allow sms to start working for sending and receiving as well as having sender information received on incoming messages. It sounds as this is a big embarrassment to Telus and they are working to get it solved.

hopefully this will fix all your issues. If it doesn't, what are you going to do. The phone is not what it's meant to be correct?

rumors are flying around that there is an update 4.6.1.294 that will fix sms texting and allow it to work. Any ninjas out there see this yet and what to let it into the wild for us to test this out ???

that's the package version number of 302 ... the OS listed in the package is 194
I have cheked around the net but can't find any updates :(

This download is so far only found with the download manager (i'm running the new DM 5.0), it is not on RIM's, Telus' or OTA yet ... it does fix the texting issue and you now know who the texts are from and can reply to them ... about time !!!
