Hi all,

I've had an HSPA 3G LG Xenon for just over a year. Lately though, I've been having a ton of reception issues with it (started around Xmas). On friday nights, and all-day saturdays, my phone has full bars...in emergency only mode. Then, the phone will say it has full 3G at times on the weekend, but it clearly doesn't: I try sending/receiving messages, and booting the phone on and off constantly at this time, but to no avail. It takes me hours (sometimes even days) to receive messages, and I can never send them. I've tried making calls, and it just beeps and automatically hangs up on me. For one week around Xmas time this year, I went a week without service.
Now, I live near an area with lots of tourists, but that should be no reason for reception difficulties, because everyone else I've talked to never has a problem with their phones. My girlfriend's phone (also Bell) works fine right beside mine, while i can't do anything with my phone on the weekends.

I've called Bell, they said that it could be that they're doing service to the tower (which is clearly B.S.), and I've gone in to my Bell store. They replaced my SIM card, but it didn't do anything to resolve the problem. The way this has been going I could get more help from a wall.

But I'd just like to know, is this a Bell problem? Or is it a device problem? I've researched it, and it seems like the Xenon is pretty lame in terms of reception anyways, but its making me angry because I'm paying good money for spotty, non-existant service on weekends.

Thanks for the help/thoughts. I just need to hear some opinions. :)

Having experienced similar problems (with other phones) my guess (and it is a guess) is that these are phone related issues.
