Lets see what everyone thinks or even knows who will receive the 1st Android device. I am Rogers user and would love them to grab it, but who knows Telus /Bell seem to be getting some nice devices so really can't tell. I think that HTC might actually give us Canadians the G1 after the release of the G2.

I seriously think that Rogers would get it before the CDMA carriers as I have not seen any CDMA model (I could be mistaken)

I think I saw an unlocked version on TigerDirect.ca (from the US obviously).
Bell is hammering this out for a big Summer 2009 push

Any ideas of when/who will launch an Android first in Canada. I heard Bell and I am kinda waiting on the first one so I can make a phone change

The CEO of Globalive expressed some interest in Android phones on the company's facebook page. and Telus is looking for someone who knows the OS. Personally, I'd go with Globalive. Their business plan seems much more in sync with Google's than any of the big 3.

Rogers has the HTC Dream and Magic, and they are on sale at futureshop for nothing. Telus is apparently launching the HTC Hero soon, and DAVE wireless will have an android device when they launch in early 2010. Wind (globalive) is also strongly rumoured to have an android at launch. Everything else is speculation at this point.

The first reply I got from them was as follows:
OK:Android is a paravirtualized version of the Linux kernel in Android. It will not run within Window Mobile. You could run them side by side in separate Hypercells. It is not material what the device is, what is important is the processor and the use of a Microvisor.
