Hi

I purchased my HTC Desire Z here in Canada from Bell yesterday and so far it's a great phone... however, I have experienced three things that I'm concerned about

i. My phone randomly sent an old text message to one of my contacts today that I sent earlier today to them that I deleted.. not sure how it managed to send it since it was no longer on my phone.. but the Desire Z sent an old message without me typing or approving it

ii. On my BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7 I was easily able to set up my university e-mail. The school uses Horde as their e-mail client. Does anyone have any experience with setting up Horde?

iii. I noticed that I can't send out e-mail messages on POP accounts over WiFi. If I do, it takes at least 10 minutes if I'm lucky, but when on 3G they send automatically. I'm using the original mail app that came on the phone. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I am unsure about the first two, however I know that my regular smtp server for my pop3 account doesn't get recognized going thru the Telus server when I am using data only.(I would imagine Bell is the same?) The only way I know is to use the Telus smtp (or in your case Bell)for my pop3 account and when I need to reply or send an email I temporally turn off my wifi. Not a fix, just a work around.

An after thought about the first one....if the text was deleted from your phone than I think it would be something that the Bell network did and not your phone.

Thanks for the response Jim.

Also, two more things:

- when writing a text I noticed the screen scrolls up and away from the text body.. happened a handful of times today.. have you experienced this?

- when i went to type on the keyboard (touch screen keyboard was fine), all of the text was being written in caps... no cap locks were on.. restarted the phone and it worked fine, but the matter that it happened initially can't be good

Not the most elegant solution, but it actually works quite well. There are more details back in the Android forums.
