"A North American iPhone that works with the CDMA technology used by Verizon might also spell some advantages for cell-phone subscribers north of the border. As we've pointed out, there's been discontent over the cost of service with Rogers Wireless, the current Canadian iPhone carrier. The CDMA version developed for Verizon might allow new, perhaps, cheaper option for Canadians, with carriers in Canada that use CDMA, such as Bell Canada and Telus."

the only way I can see this actually coming true is in a few years. I think ROgers has an exclusive deal in place for the next couple years.
would be good though.

this will not happen for a long long time... perhaps if Bell/TELUS join forces and pay Apple millions

Exactly, but on the other hand, it will be an iPhone anyway :)
I seriously doupt that Apple would plan to come out with a CDMA handset when Verizon, Bell and Telus changes network shortly. I would see it as one of the first phones offered when the new network is available.

Well Iphone sales have drop this quarter against Blackberry devices, so a move into CDMA Network would help them boost sales. But who really is urging for an Iphone anymore, thats the question Apple should be asking themselves if their thinking of CDMA Iphone.

Allow me to dispel this rumour... this actually is a rumour from back in September 2008 and was rehashed because it showed up in a number of RSS feeds.
"We messed up. The 9 to 5 Mac blog we cited below is in fact from September 2008, so it turns out this is an old rumor. Because it showed up in our RSS feed Saturday, we, like a number of other publications, took it as a recent post and went from there. Apologies for the confusion." - http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10169417-1.html

As far as I am aware Apple will not be releasing a CDMA version of the iPhone. But will BELL be selling apple products such as the iPhone? The answer is yes

Maybe the only way Bell will have a shot (for now) to sell the iPhone is if they keep Rogers on board in The Source stores, now owned by Bell.
