Captivate Backup

Well i'm very new to android and hope to be lucky to get a captivate this week.

As such I would like to know if there is a way to perform a FULL System backup. This way if I load some cheap apps that create problems I will be able to restore things to the way it was on day one.

Is there sometype of desktop software that can do this? is it already included?

its called platinium back up but you need to root your phone!

Are there any that don't require root?
Seems root voids the warranty

Sounds like rooting a rogers captivate will not be as easy at the AT&T one
