The Kies not connecting to new Galaxy Vibrant

OK so the connecting to device using USB is taking for ever .. like not making it. do I need to set the samsung to connect mode or something
fortunately I can see it on my explorer and can download from the folders.

Blue tooth got paired after entering in PC PIN number 1234 on both PC and Samsung

But then my windows 7 asks if this is a symbian or a windows mobile phone??
now what???:confused:
no android option
anyhow NOT getting connected

BTW this is a unlocked Bell but using the Roger sim card.

Make sure you have the latest version of Kies
(which you can find here: www.samsungapps.com)

If you do, then try this: Open Kies, click on the Kies Menu on the top left and select Driver Recovery.

Restart the computer and see if the device gets recognized. Just make sure your phone is on Kies mode and not USB m*** storage

When you connected your Galaxy S to PC with KIES running.

You get a popup in your phone screen, did you click on Samsung KIES?
You have to do that from your phone to get it connected.
