Come on Bell people, you have to know soooomething? I'd love to get Bell Mobility in Saskatchewan but they do not offer mobile plans or local numbers to Sasaktchewan residents.
Anyone hear of the possibility of BELL moving into SK now that SaskTel has replaced all of their towers to have 3G+ networks?

Well prior to HSPA Bell, MTS and SaskTel had agreements for CDMA roaming, i'm sure they still do while CDMA is still going.
I doubt you see Bell move at all into Sask or Manitoba while CDMA is still going. In a few years maybe.
EDIT: They might just do what they did in the Atlantic provinces, buying Aliant and re-naming it Bell.

I'm very doubtful your RM or even AB's corp store director (Brian something or other?) is privy to the conversations about whether or not Bell will be acquiring a Crown corporation like Sasktel. Sasktel owns quite a few services that bundle with wireless, so it seems unlikely that it would simply divest that one part of the business.
That...and considering that Sasktel is government operated, you think something like this will slip past the public?

Talked to someone higher in Bell Mobility today. Claims Bell could be opening it's own service in Saskatchewan in the next 3 months.

Got the same with my RM. Within the next couple months.

I don't live in Saskatchewan or use Bell for anything so I have no bias! Still, I don't get it, what does Bell have that SaskTel does not?

Different (I'd say often worse) rate plans, different handsets, different type of ownership group, etc. etc.
It's been a awhile and still nothing about Bell taking over Sasktel ;) Perhaps they got on Jackie's bad side and she's telling them they might get extra territory to shut them up.

Received an e-mail a couple days ago.
Sask numbers are now available through FastACT, and should no be fully functional.
There were in there previously, but no rate plans were assigned to the local codes, that should be corrected now.
yet another step closer!

What is FastACT? Does this mean numbers are now available to customers? If so, how? Or is it rather that the infrastructure/system to provide numbers is now set up, and Bell still needs to flip the switch to make them publicly available? Excuse my ignorance on this - I'm new here!
I just heard from a dealer they "hope" Bell will be set up in Sask within 3-6 months - not a very convincing choice of words. Does anyone have any new or more precise information on this?
Thanks for any explanation on this, and on how to get a Sask number from Bell if it is possible!

Sorry for the late reply.
What the above means is that Bell numbers are available in Saskatchewan through regular channels. You can change your number to a sask. number through bell.ca or at a bell dealer.

Pretty stupid, sign up for are code X where Bell works and then they can call Bell to switch and pay a fee...

Not quite sure what your trying to say. What it means is, you can get a sask number on a bell phone. If you already have a bell number you can get a sask number, and yes there is always a fee for everything.

Previously we were told to not sign up Sask residents under diff area codes (that they would later switch. But as far as I am aware, Bell is now fully available.
