That is one sweet device PRE. Palm Centro is a good device as well, best out of all the Palm devices that came out before the PRE. But highly doubt that it will be available any time soon for Bell, but lets cross our fingers just in case.

I think they just brought out the centro to have a budget smartphone.

I love palm but I have to admit that they needed a change and i think the palm pre is just that!

I have enjoyed the palm products over the years but not the service from Palm. I do hope they have changed their high and mighty ways and come down to earth to take care of customers properly or once again Palm sales may very well be modest at best.

I was going to start by saying does anyone really care about palm anymore, apparently you do, but seriously. The centro is tiny.. Why would you want such a small device on top of the fact that it runs Windows??

Here are the price plans:
Launch promo 3-year contract: $49.95
After launch promo 3-year contract: $199.95
2-year contract: $249.95
1-year contract: $349.95
Month to Month: $399.95

Kinda a massive jump in price after the promo is over. Isn't the Palm Treo Pro coming to Canada? Or better yet the Pre?

I am praying that the Pre does arrive here, but for some reason i feel that if it does reach us Canadians we be robbed for are money. The Pre will be priced as a high end device just like how the G1 was priced on T-mobile.

The Centro is tiny, but you're a little mistaken on the Windows bit. The Centro will be sporting good ol' PalmOS.

That launch promo 3/yr new activation price is very tempting and the good old palm OS is good for daily use.

Even if I were interested in the form/functionality of the Centro, I'd wait just a little longer for the Palm Pro.

Even if the Pro was released it wouldn't be anytime soon, they try and make as much sales off the centro. Then will they only try introduce another palm device. Just my guess.

Received the Centro mock up today. The keys are rubberized so no slippage when typing but you would do well to shave your thumbs to size as the keyboard is fairly small but overall the unit fits well in my hand; comfortable.

The mid key layout is nice, well done although I was hoping for a slightly larger screen. Will have to check the graphics when the order arrives.

Nice to see the Palm OS again considering the large number of apps available for previous Palm OS's.

Not my phone of choice, but initial impressions are good.

I haven't been to the store as yet and although it's an older product (2007 intro?) people who use only Linux OS will appreciate the Palm OS as the sync is built-in and very stable.

i really think that the centro release was a bad move. I think that the pearl is a way better device and is in the same category. I doubt the Centro will move many units but thats just me. I think they should have skipped the centro and go for the Pro. The pro looks like a better device minus the os

my guess is that they had to fulfill a contract of sorts...

Going to close this thread as I can see it going on forever... plus the Centro has already launched.

Will make a new thread for upcoming Bell Devices. :)
