Well it's official. The Pro is coming February 26th and the Peal Flip is coming March 6, (2 days before my birthday, to bad its a piece of crap). What are your thoughts on this matter. First i think we need the Niagara. HURRY IT UP

I think this will only improve on what they have... the more smartphones the better

I always wanted a flip smartphone. My only problem with the flip is the lack of gps and it is kinda big. If i was in a 1.5 years in to contract probably think of resigning but with the Niagara and storm there can't decide.

When you put the Niagara and Storm and than throw the Blackberry flip into the mix i would say i go with the other two instead of the Flip. Nice basic smartphone device but i need the qwerty keyboard in my hand, just doesn't feel right without it.

Now thats a device that should be pushed along to get it out on the market. Knowing that there are many customers willing to jump on it once it hits i.e CreamyGoodness. I also want to give it a test run when it is released.

CreamyGoodness

Looks like the flip will be $499 w/o contract about $100 more than Rogers.

Thats ridiculous , they should priced it lower than Rogers. Well guess people if waiting for the device will going on contracts. I doubt anyone will dish out that cash for the device out right. But for $29.95 3/yr would be pretty good, never actually sold a Bell devices that was purchased outright. lol .

All I know if I was looking for a Flip (which I'm not) I would go to eBay/Expansys before dishing out 500 bucks for it... the $29.95 is good, but then locked into a 3 year
CreamyGoodness

yes but if your stuck on bell you have no ebay options

I would love to see what the hype these devices will actually get once they are released into the Canadian market. I feel the Blackberry Flip will do much better than the Treo Pro. My opinion.

two different target markets though... overall, I think in phones sold the BB will do better.

most likely. Everyone knows palm as strictly buisness devices.

but i doubt that if any one need a business device they would go for the blacberry higher end devices. But the Treo has a huge following behind it so i think that also could be enough for them.
i would wait for the niagara

I checked and the Treo Pro is on the Bell website. Looks like someone made a mistake with the Pricing. 3 year contract $99.99, no Contract $49.99 and 2 or 2 year contract $0.00.
Is anyone willing to try to buy it online and see what they get charged?

I saw that too on Palm's website. I wonder if this is something Bell had turned off?
Can anyone else confirm if it comes wifi enabled?

okay I chatted with a Bell rep on the website and at first they said no but when I pointed them to the Palm website the looked into it and now are saying yes.
me: how come it's listed on Palm's website as being Wifi enabled?
me: http://www.palm.com/ca/products/smartphones/treopro/specs.html
Kara: Is it. Let me double check that.
Kara: Yes, in Palm Treo Pro you have Wi-Fi 802.11b/g with WPA, WPA2, and 801.1x authentication.

okay the last update from me. This is the latest the Bell rep said to me
Kara: The website you provided to me is not Bell's. However the Palm Treo phones available with Bell is not Wi-Fi enabled.

This is not the first nor do I fear the last time a carrier has had the Wi-Fi feature disabled in a unit before launch. I can only guess at the reasons but loss of data dollars glares brightly.
Just the ramblings of a soon to be old man

to bad i will not be participating in the pro, bel wont get my hard earned data dollars. shame

what I don't understand is why Bell has the new Treo Pro on their site on Page 3... right neat the Moto Phone Bag. Do they not have any stock or something?

I agree, are they hiding it for a reason? on the front page is all the new phones. I wonder if they don't want to push the phone or if it's just a case of poor website maintenance.

Ok - clearly by my name I'm a girl and want to get the pink one from Bell. Is it worth it though? I mean should I get a contract for 3-years wiht this phone?
