Will my Virgin SII update with Fido Sim?

Hey guys, sorry of this is a stupid question but total noob here. I have a Virgin SII, unlocked and rooted with a Fido sim in it and using the Fido network (obviously). I'm wondering, when Virgin starts to roll out the ICS update, will my phone pick it up in Kies or do I have to have the Virgin Sim in it? Looks like OTA updates are disabled on that version of the phone therefore this won't be an option either.

I would think you would be able to DL via kies..
