It's actually not bad at all, battery life is good, voice in/out is excellent, ring tones out of the box are LOUD, vibration is average. I got it for my dad and that's all he needs except he wants a case so i gave him a baggie LOL
I guess it has a place for somebody. It is a basic phone. Nothing more really.... not crap, just 1980's.

Not crap at all, i kind of like the design of the device slim. My battery life on the phone was excellent but do keep in mind there wasn't much for it to be drained out of because of its simplicity. But i do got to argue that the reception wasn't all that great compared to other devices in certain areas at my work place.

if the reception isnt that good, the phone really can't have much going for it

well the phone was pretty popular i have seen quiet a few customer grab it, because it simple and cheaper than others. My argument that it had not so great reception had to compare it with higher end devices. In the target market of its class i think it would stand toe to toe with most of the devices.

My customers think its among the ugliest phones that Fido has ever carried.
I can't help but agree LOL. The whole 3 I think I've ever sold have been pretty stable and haven't had any major complaints about them.

I might get another one or two because it's been good so far for my dad, i'm migrating all my Bell lines regardless of ECF, i just want better reception. I also prefer a flip/clam phone as i can't be bothered cleaning the screen all the time and i can never get that darn screen protector on properly :)
if it matters my dad's has a manufacture date 11/08

Just a note to add about the Nokia 6555:
Stock is being depleted from the warehouse and will not be reordered. Good riddance LOL
guess I better get one and save it for year. Keep the box in good condition also. I am smelling a collectors item!

Either that or a great paperweight.

Does it mean Fido are finally making some space on their shelves for the 'new' phones from the 'Launchs' list? I mean, it's past early March and there's still no T303. Every time I go question the stuff at some Fido store, they give me that smile as we are keeping some sort of secret together and someone else around should not know about it :P and they insist they don't know anything about any of these phones...
