Overlays on android such as motoblur and sense slow down development leaving you stuck on an ancient os for months longer then others. As we are in Canada we already have to wait longer with one of these overlays its even longer. There is nothing really special about the backflip. Sub par specs and a weird form factor this phone will be for your teenage daughter or something not for someone who wants a good smartphone.

I checked out that video and the backflip actually looks cool with that track pad sort of thing on the back.

Scolirk and I were at the launch party yesterday. They didn't have launch dates, but the advertising campaign starts on May 17th, so launch will be very close to there.
We're getting review units soon and will be reviewing them fully. If anyone has more questions about any of the new MotoBlur devices (Dext, Quench and Backflip), let us know. We'll answer questions on the show.

Bell has the Dext for 79, so Telus will soon drop the Backflip to 79 as well.
