With windows mobile in my pocket I feel like I have a mobile computing solution which is adaptive enough to deal with everything I can throw at it.
Everything else is just a toy. Why bother?

Of course there are. The SE Xperia X1 and LG IQ are both windows mobile phones.
@pencils: are you thinking of windows phone 7? which of course hasnt been released anywhere yet.
By the way windows phone 7 is going to remove all the best functionality that windows mobile currently offers and change the operating system into a iphone clone.

windows mobile allows you to do various functions but with my experience i would have to do a few too many steps to accomplish that. Hopefully windows 7 can help and still kepp the core concept of windows it self.

Good point serans1987... the majority of end users of a mobile phone don't want functionality. They want a nice package that all they have to do is press a button and things magically appear for them (i.e. iphone).
That's fine for them. However, while a lot of people feel that windows mobile is bloated and difficult to learn, windows mobile is still the most fully functional out of the box phone operating system available.
Internet explorer has flash capabilities... FLASH CAPABILITIES....
Pocket Office....
Internet sharing out of the box...
thousands and thousands of apps....
dedicated modder community...
Several options for non-data GPS turn by turn navigation software...
Pocket DivX plays dixX files for FREE....
Play my PS1 games using FPSEce for FREE...
Do several things at once....
The only reason that there isn't any windows mobile section on this forum is because the people on this forum see mobile phones as toys and are scared of all the potential capabilities that a fully functional mobile operating system can provide. The same kind of people who to upgrade their phone every year signing ridiculous 3 year contracts to expensive cellular providers and get bored almost immediately with their newly purchased phone.
Good luck with that.

^ so true this last paragraph... That's the main reason why at some point I just stopped reading the forums...

Telus have the LG IQ which has a 1GHz processor = very fast, nice form factor, good screen
Bell has the samsung omnia 2 plays divx out of the box, nice form factor, great screen
Rogers have the sony xperia X1 which is a great phone if you upgrade it yourself. the xperia has a very big modding community over at xda-developers. I think they are actually working on porting the android operating system to the xperia so you can have a duel boot system.
All are great phones. All Windows Mobile phones have a learning curve if you are new to the operating system. However, functionality out of the box beats the pants off iphone.
OR... you can buy a HTC windows mobile unlocked from the states.
