I just want to know how you guys evolved cell-phone wise. My first phone was the Nokia 6265i, then I got an LG Chocolate Flip, then I used some random old LG phone, because both my other ones had broken. Later, I got a LG Venus, and finally, I got a HTC Hero. All these phones were from TELUS, and were over the course of 3 (plus a few months) years (one 3 year contract, plus the first few months of my new 3 year contract from my HTC Hero)

Here are some of the phones I had in chronological order:

Nokia 5190, Vtech A700, Audiovox 8900, Audiovox 8920T, Motorola Razr V3, Motorola Q (black), HTC S720 (Libra), Blackberry Curve 8330, Nokia E71, Blackberry Storm, iPhone 16Gig 3GS, Blackberry Bold 9700.

Now I do have quite the collection of phones. Those are just the ones I used on a regular basis. I have the MyTouch 3G Fender, the Nokia N97 Mini Bronze CE, Nokia N900, Nokia 8800 CE etc... Those are phone's I don't use regularly.

That is my cell phone evolution :)

last phone was a blackberry pearl and the current phone is the palm pre. The WebOS is great for my uses and i like the convenience of the touchstone for charging. Thinking about getting another touchstone, one for bedside and another for downstairs.

My first phone came compliments of Cantel (now Rogers) and it lived in a box, I carried it around in my company truck. Next came an early portable model from BC Cellular (now Telus) that clipped to my belt and hung down to my knee. Both of these were Analog phones (I forget the model numbers) After I retired I had to start buying my own cell phones.......... sigh.

My first phone was a Motorola Razr V3C on Telus. Nothing fancy but it got the job done. After a couple years I switched to an HTC Titan on Bell. The phone turned out to be way too bulky and sluggish, and I realized I don't really need a smart phone. I usually have internet somewhere near me, so it was a waste. I also had a lot of problems with Bell; dropped calls, missing texts. I currently use a Samsung Intensity on Koodo. Does what I need it to do at a cheap price.

Back in December of 2007, I got a LG Chocolate which was my first phone. I thought I had lost it and got a Chocolate Flip early in 2008. Had those until last week when I decided to get a Motorola Backflip.

that's how I started too! Audiovox flip phone on Virgin (forget model no, but it didn't even have a camera)

Then I went to the Samsung r610 slider on Bell

When the screen crapped out on that a few months ago, I grabbed an HTC legend on Bell

Next phone? Who knows what phones will look like in two years when I'm up for my next hardware upgrade

First phone is the generic Clearnet phone around 1998.

Then I moved to the generic Fido phone around 2003 ish?

Upgraded to Nokia 6126. Best clam shell phone ever. Just push a button and it flips open like the Star Trek TOS communicator. Got it around 2006 ish?

Then my first foray into the world of smartphones is the Nokia N97. Got it in March 2010. This is the worse smartphone ever made. Had to deal with software failing every day. Got fed up with it last month.

So in November 2010, I got the HTC Desire Z. Simply awesome.

I started with a panasonic brick back in 1996 on Cantel. Then to a Motorola StarTac.

When I went to bell I brought the startac with me and used that until I switched to a audiovox candybar phone. I then went to a samsung flip. Upgraded to a Motorola e815 until the charging port got busted when I dropped it.

I then went to a sanyo flip phone that I absolutely hated. I picked up a Nokia 2730 at that point to hold me over for a bit and I am now on a Blackberry Curve 3G.

Close to 10 years ago now I got my first phone for xmas, a big blue Nokia brick phone with a green monochrome screen. I had it for at least 4 years, the battery life was awesome until the last 6 months.
Then I got a free Motorola V551, a kind of cool looking blue and silver flip phone. At the time it was probably a mid level phone, but I never really liked it. I was used to the battery life being better on the Nokia, and sometimes the signal would drop off for no reason. I think I had it for 2 or 3 years and then accidentally went swimming with it in my pocket. I was already past my contract term so I cancelled and went without for a while.

Then my girlfriend got me a cheap Nokia prepaid phone on virgin (a little white phone) nothing fancy. It did its job, until I left it at a party once and never found it again. Not sure how long i had it. I drank a lot back then.
Then got a Samsung M300 flip phone and had it for a couple years and it even survived a load of laundry (went through the entire wash cycle), a week of drying and it worked more or less again.
Then when I started using my phones more, the prepaid got too expensive, so I got a plan with Telus with the LG Shine flip phone (LG 8700). I used it for 2 years and upgraded early to get a student plan and LG Shine Plus on a 3yr. The old one was still in good shape working perfect and I gave it to someone who couldn't afford to replace their dead blackberry pearl and they're really happy with it.

Ha ha, I guess I have, didn't really think much about it until now but is is basically a new one every two years.

I just bought a curve outright so I can't see myself jumping ship anytime soon and I am really enjoying the phone so far.

My first cellphone was an iPhone 3G - and I was 28 then. Just didn't have nearly as much interest in cellphones or smartphones.

Current: iPhone 3GS. Yeah. I'm a Mac user, so Apple's still the best for local sync and makes a good case for apps and media playback, too.

Having said that, the nature of my work has meant testing literally every modern smartphone operating system: Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, webOS, Windows Mobile, Windows Phone, even Bada (if that counts). One of those few people who can say he knows what the competition was like going in.

I got my first cell in 1996, but tbh I couldn't think of the name if I tried.

It was a Nokia something or other, one of the first ones with interchangeable face plates.

The thing was a Brickasaurus Rex.

......

My current phone is Telus home phone until I order my Galaxy S :)

I had a Kyrocera Blade first.

It was awful even back then.

Now, I'm using the Legend after a bunch of other devices since the Blade.

First phone: LG Shine flip, one tough phone (not that I abused it that much, but the metal case is pretty heavy duty). Still works fine, gave it to my mother because she wanted a cell phone.

Current: HTC Legend, aweome! Love android (just got updated to 2.2, so much better than Eclair! Too bad I had to wait so damn long. Didn't want to root).

Next phone: If the Evo 3D comes to canada, that might tempt me enough...

First phone - Motorola C650
mp3 ringtones, 1.5 MB of internal memory & VGA camera. I thought it was pretty sweet at the time, next to my iRiver N10 mp3 player.
Last I checked (summer 2010) it could still turn on and make calls but it was hard to navigate because the joystick barely worked.

Now using an unlocked Samsung Wave - really great phone.

I honestly can't remember what my first phone was. It was an old analog flip phone. It was on Bell but I remember when I got bad reception (and that was a lot) I'd manage to get the Rogers Cantel AT&T prerecorded message.

I stopped using a cell phone after I graduated college, up until 2008. Then I got a Nokia 6085 on Rogers. It was great, but reading about all the smartphones coming out I had to upgrade. In February 2010 I upgraded to a Blackberry Bold 9700, been using it ever since. At first I loved it, as my first smartphone, but I'm already so ready for an upgrade. The Blackberry style just isn't my style.

1. LG FLIP
2. Razr
3. Rumor
4. ??? looking at a few options but not seeing one I really like. Leaning towards android because i find iOS boring.
