Where was Wind's Priorities when launching its TV commercial, Aren't they concerned about getting better quality phones, non of this unbranded Chinese phones, or about improving the network? I feel as if they have abandoned there core values as a brand in favor of making money. This spells orascom all over it preaching what it wants to be done.. obviously they want to make money but at this rate many of there customers will reach a point where dropped calls and no service and paying for services not rendered is not acceptable. As an employee I feel let down as well that they are not focusing proper funding to the areas that need it most which is the network.

I am sure it's part of their plan, they need to do everything like marketing , building the network etc. It's a m***ive project to take on

they should have done that and had it ready before hand.

You really have no conception of how large a feat launching a wireless carrier is, do you? It generally takes a good two years for a company to be sustainable. You have to start somewhere. How can you say they've abandoned their core values in a timeframe so short? I'm not with WIND but I wasn't too quick on jumping aboard when they are in their infancy.

Now I am not a big WIND supporter; I think they were all talk with no substance.

At the same time, they are competing against three very well established GIANTS.

They do have a pretty decent roaming agreement with Rogers (on EDGE), but I think that WIND thought they were being smart by choosing the AWS market because no other carrier in Canada has it. At the same time, jumping into the wireless telecom market with three companies who have vast HSPA+ networks (3G) when you can really only cover 5-7 cities, wasn't a smart business decision.

If WIND has chosen the North American standard like TELUS, Bell, Rogers, AT&T, they might have hit the ground running.

If WIND decides to ditch their 'Home Zone' idea they might do better, but it may also cause them to lose current and potential subscribers. Comsumers like simplicity. I believe that WIND missed the mark with their 'home zone' idea. It can potentially cost a customer more then they would pay with the Big 3.

I do think, however, that WIND has huge potential with the handset's it can offer. They can offer the Google Nexus One, HTC HD2 etc...

I think they have an okay business plan and now it is hurry up and wait time.

If you are an employee of WIND, I implore you to let them know how you feel. I'm sure Tony would love to hear your feedback.

I wouldn't switch to WIND, but I think that if you live in one of the cities where they have 3G coverage, you don't travel much in Canada, and you want access to some awesome phones, then maybe WIND is the company for you :)

Just my two cents.

you have valid points, perhaps if they can improve over the next few months I might buy in for a month and give it a go. I do feel they are good for Canada and will continue to stress the other carriers out

I am furious with wind, as far as I am concerned there is no integrity at the company. They have put 4 phones on the market but unfortunetly wind won't stand behind the products they sell. The big picture to them is get you as a customer and then let you suffer while they build there core business and get new customers. I have logged 4 tickets, dropping calls left right and center and my phone either goes into emergency call no no service for a day or sometimes a day and a half.......... there answer, sorry that is the way it is. Any one work there, can anyone tell me what I can do to get them to look after existing customers........... I threatened to pull my account and the atitude there is "so what", I think wind thinks it is a privledge for me to have service from them and I just have to deal with it........... please help.

you are not the only one to feel that "so what" attitude. For them it's all a front about a community when it comes down to $$$

Threatening them with cancelation and then sticking around isn't going to do much. If you are that unsatisfied, then why not leave? You aren't under contract.

WIND launched too early. It is just that simple.

Take the phone, sell it on ebay or something and go to a different carrier.

the only phone of value is the BB 9700, everything else you should just take to BB or FS and get a gift card from their recycling program.

Priorities for wind should be new phones. The current line up was a good start but they need a feature phone that no other carrier has.

So true, but I guess manufacturers need to see subscribers and reliability first :)

WIND should ensure they get excellent coverage of universities in the 5 cities they are launching in. There would be a large pool of students to draw from who would be looking for a cheaper alternative. A lot of students would be moving to a new city and need to have excellent coverage on campus (but not necessary outside of the city).

At Carleton U, Rogers has 2 antennas and has excellent coverage in all buildings. Bell and WIND have antennas far from campus and one loses signal inside buildings. Guess who gets the most customers here?
