I'm currently with Telus and I feel like I'm being ripped off. So I want to switch to Wind and get their $30 utld. talk, text, and data.
But I'm stuck between 2 phones.. The Torch 9810 and the Nexus S.
I want the Torch 9810 because of its nicer screen, keyboard, and camera. A lot of my friends have Blackberries too.
I want the Nexus S because it's going to have Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Torch is going to cost me $150 while the Nexus is going to cost me $0.
You can suggest other phones if you want to.

Curious as to how you plan to get the nexus for free ?

It's a toss up. What do you value in a phone? The Qwerty keyboard? Large screen to watch media? What type of phone are you coming from?
The Torch 9810 is the newer released phone and Blackberry will not be releasing any new phones until the end of 2012.
You're right that Nexus S will be receiving ICS.
I'm personally moving from a blackberry to an Android device. Looking at both the phone choices you're making, the hardware specifics are the same except for a few things.

Things I would value on the Torch over the Nexus S:
-camera records 720p over VGA
-external storage option with 32gb microsd
-qwerty keyboard for faster replies to your buddies on bbm or email
The con's, i'll keep the reservation for that. Just know that the blackberry is very addictive, especially typing on the physical keyboard :)

I would get the Torch 9810 or Bold 9900. Blackberry will have better build quality and most importantly with Wind, better antenna and reception.
With more of a possibility of poor signal strength on Wind's 3G network until the coverage areas are expanded and strenghtened, your Nexus might be useless in areas with mediocre signal strength.
Blackberry's have the best antenna's and signal strength and Nexus has many complaints of poor signal strength on 3G & 4G and much worse battery as well.

Lastly, if you BBM and text quite a bit, I wouldn't go without the Keyboard.

Keep in mind that the $30 all unlimited plan is only good for 1 year. Read the details.

I don't really care about how long the plan is. After 1 yr, both phones are going to be considered prehistoric anyways so i would have upgraded by that time. The only things I'm stuck between right now is how the Nexus S has Ice Cream Sandwich + a faster browser and the Torch has a better camera and screen. I really care abOut the OS and the camera and screen…

I have both phones. I use the 9810 for important work communication and the Nexus S for more fun things like games. It really depends what your primary purpose is and if you prefer physical or virtual keyboards.

Thank you for all the help guys!! But I decided I'm going to wait for the Galaxy Nexus to come to Wind. The Galaxy Nexus has everything I want:
-a good camera
-a good screen
-a fast browser
- Ice Cream Sandwich

Well worth the wait ;). Glad you're willing to wait it out. Go with the new and out with the old.

Yes I do know I can just pick one up and use it with Wind.. But I don't exactly have the money to pay that much so I'm waiting for it to be available on Wind so I can get it on "WindTab+" :P

Does the Galaxy Nexus available from Bell have AWS frequencies? I believe it's different.

The HSPA+ version of the Galaxy Nexus (which is the only version currently available for use in Canada) does support UMTS 1700/2100.

I vote Nexus S. It's a solid phone and you'll get Ice cream sandwich. You'll also be able to do more with an Android phone than on a blackberry e.g. games etc.
