I know it is early but does anyone know when the milestone will drop in price or at least have an idea of when? I really want one but I don't know if I want to pay the outright price!!

The Milestone is TELUS's most high-end smartphone right now, and they're trying to keep it that way. The outright price of 599.99 will likely never change, but it's very possible that they lower the subsidized price to 99.99. I don't have a date, and this is all just speculation though. Usually, you can expect Futureshop or BestBuy to put the phone on sale, because they usually have more aggressive pricing.

I think we should get rid of all the 3 year pricing. Way too long with all the new phones coming out.

I hope so... would be cool for this to go to $0.00 or even $49.99 like the Magic/Dream
^$0.00 will never happen. Maybe $49 in a year but I think it's too good a phone to hit that low price
By the time its anywhere near free (sub $100) the Milestone will be old news. It already has a mediocre CPU and an outdated OS. As much as I want this device, waiting till it drops in price will just mean you will be getting old tech. If you are looking for a GOOD smartphone 150 on a 3 year is a deal.

jeffmorr is very right. the outright prices rarely drop, until the phone is very old and discontinued.

Actually the 550 mhz omap 3 cpu can hold its own. Its no slouch. It is only slightly slower in browsing tests compared to the snapdragon chip. It also has its own dedicated graphics chip which actually slightly outperforms the snapdragons.
Also it is a crazy overclocker if and when we find a way to unlock the bootloader or motorola listens to us for 2.1 we will be able to push that baby all the way up to 1.2 ghz i think its at now

Motorola is pushing out 2.1 to HK and parts of europe right now. I say end of April we will have 2.1

Milestone would not reach $0 for a while. Motorola is launching Backflip with MotoBlur and it would proabably be between $49.99 to $99.99 on a 3 year. Milestone is staying in 100s for atleast few more months.
BB Bold was launched in November end and is still listed at $149.99

I personally think we should get rid of contracts altogether. Buy a phone that you can afford should be the mantra.
But hold on, don't we already have an option to not have a contract?

I think we'll see this hit $99 in April, just a hunch. ;)
^ You want to verify a date with that hunch ;)

I think we'll hear something on the 8th if there will be a price drop. We'll just have to wait and find out =)
