Bell Mobility is introducing Remote PVR on select Bell Mobility smartphones. Remote PVR is an innovative TV enhancement, which provides Bell TV subscribers the ability to schedule and manage their Bell TV HD PVR from a smartphone on any Internet connected PC, Mac!

Bell Mobility is introducing Remote PVR on select Bell Mobility smartphones. Remote PVR is an innovative TV enhancement, which provides Bell TV subscribers the ability to schedule and manage their Bell TV HD PVR from a smartphone on any Internet connected PC, Mac.



Bell is the first to launch the Remote PVR service in Canada, and will provide clients with the ability to:

· easily set PVR recordings from anywhere at anytime (for example, if a client is in Vancouver, they can still control their PVR in Toronto remotely.)

· conveniently see all recording schedules: edit or delete existing recordings,

· browse and customize the program guide by preferences (language, genre, ratings etc),

· quickly access their favourite shows with an intuitively search feature,

· use a single login – login with Bell User ID (same login as Bell TV),

· enjoy the familiar Bell TV PVR user interface on their smartphone.


The Remote PVR service will be available on the following smartphones at launch:

· BlackBerry 8830 World Edition,

· BlackBerry Curve 8330,

· BlackBerry Curve 8530,

· BlackBerry Tour 9630,

· BlackBerry Bold 9700,

· Palm Pre,

· Samsung Omnia 2, and

· Apple iPhone 3G/3Gs

I have slingbox software on my O2 that's connected to a shaw PVR. Very slick - I can watch stuff from home over the internet anywhere, set recording if I forget before I leave home.

If you do have mostly Bell services this would be a good thing to do. If not and you love your PVR what's stopping you from getting a slingbox already.

I think a slinbox is a bit more expensive than what Bell is offering
