Let us know how it functions.
I'm tempted but I'm gonna be patient and see if it actually lives up to all the hype.
I read that there will be a different version coming out in 2012 that has aluminum edges?

Well, I already knew it was unlocked, but it's always nice to make sure. I'm especially happy that you said that you used fido.

It works GREAT. The screen is amazing. Yes it's pentile but at this resolution, it doesn't matter. Everything is crisp. I compared it to my old iPhone 4 side by side. The retina is SLIGHTLY more sharper due to higher pixel density and no pentile. However, the nexus KILLS the iphone's screen because its AMOLED, much bigger screen, much higher resolution.
It's VERY fast. The browser is just amazing. It feels like a PC in my hands. The multitasking button works great. No slowdowns at all.
The back is plastic but it is VERY high quality. When I first held it, I could have sworn it was all metal. (it was very cold lol)
Didn't have to touch APN settings. Fido worked right away.
Only 3 things that are bugging me:
1) 2 email apps ?? Email and Gmail. Only the email does exchange but it's layout is kinda bad. Need to look into this more. I need the push functionality of exchange for gmail.
2) No SD card. Only 13.3GB (yes it's 13.3 not 16, probably due to formatting). This is just unacceptable for a $650+tax phone.
3) Face unock is a joke.

Oooo. Jealous. Congrats on the new pick up.
Glad to hear it's unlocked as previous versions. Great for everyone..except the carriers.

Thanks for the unlock confirmation! That'll quash many worries, I'm sure (though I expect this question to appear in about another half-dozen threads on this forum).
Is 16GB for $650 really "unacceptable"? The 16GB iPhone 4S costs the same price. I'm more disappointed by the downgraded camera from the SII series; that, to me, is more unacceptable considering that I don't see why Samsung couldn't have just stuck the SII camera into the Nexus, instead of developing new hardware. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

What about the bloatware?

I did not see anything unusual, no zoompass, no self service, no Bell TV or Radio App... I don't know what you usually have as bloatware on Android, but Everything I am use to see on BB... wel its not there and I did not see anything that could make me think there is any! :)

That's good news that there's not a lot of bloatware. Takes up internal storage space.

The lack of bloatware is very reassuring. Just pristine Android, the way it should be.

To those of you who have already bought the Galaxy Nexus can you confirm that on activation you received the 4.0.1 update? I was reading over at xda (http://www.xda-developers.com/android/is-the-galaxy-nexus-still-a-nexus/) that the GN devices with bloatware didn't received this update. Apparently their releases are coming from Samsung rather than Google. As such they are subject to the delayed updated that we are all painfully familiar with.

I am with Bell and I confirm that my phone show 4.0.1 but I never actually notice any upgrade ( I am new to Android so I don't know how the updates work) so I cannot say if it came with it or not! I love that phone! :D

Thanks andouille. That might have scared me away from buying it, but thankfully GN in canada appears clean of any crap like that. It mainly seems to be the US carriers that have strong armed Google into mucking around with the Nexus.

Question about the Nexis is it an i9250 or an i9250M ?
Did they sell you the phone outright or do you have to sign-up for a period of time?

Hi. Question to those who bought their Nexus from Bell or Virgin: could you check and write here Baseband version and Build number (Settings-About phone), please.
Thank you!
PS Anyone uses Galaxy Nexus on Fido? Does CallerID works properly?

I used it on Wind, Bell & Virgin, these are the problems I'm having:
1- Battery doesn't last long at all, it's kind of frustrating
2- When you text sometimes it can't keep up with you and it freezes for a couple of seconds
My caller ID worked on those 3 networks just fine, but I had to exchange the phone 3 times and today I just returned it, I was frustrated with the battery life...

CallerID works fine for me using a Fido SIM card.
As for the battery issue, after 3 hours of heavy usage it has dropped to ~50%. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but it seems to be good enough for me to get through my day.

How would you define heavy use? Gaming? Browsing the internet over 4g/wifi? Just curious.

Names should display as long as you have callerID and the person in your contacts. Not sure why you're asking for that other info though.

All of the above. I was exploring the phone, so I did pretty much everything I could think of. The phone seems to not kill apps itself. That is its default function, but you can change it to kill the app once you leave it. You could also turn of sync to conserve battery power. Honestly, so far this doesn't even seem like an issue to me. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask more questions if you want.

No, I am speaking about feature when you can see incoming phone number with name, even this number (and name) not in your contacts list.
I bought my GN in UK and want to know if Baseband version and Build number differ from phones sold in Canada. My Baseband version is I9250XXKK1, Build number is ITL41F. Could you check if you have the same, please.

Both the baseband version and the build number are different. I'll have to get back to you on the other thing.

NIB Galaxy Nexus from Future Shop two days ago. Also came unlocked, worked immediately with Telus SIM.
Confirmed Android 4.0.1
First Impression: I can't believe how light this device is!
Impression: The lack of capacitive buttons looks really slick when placed face-up. I don't use a screen protector or case (if I do, it's a leather sleeve). Video playback is probably the best I've seen on an android device because of this. I love how little space is "wasted" on the bezel. I took a look at the girlfriend's iPhone from time to time, and I'm amazed at how superior the touchscreen side of the phone is in this regard.
That said, I still like the HTC Amaze better. Like the sIIx, the Amaze beats the Nexus in "3.5g" speeds due to their dual connection to the network. Although browsing use on the Nexus is still great, it's beaten by both of these phones. And I absolutely love the camera on the Amaze. I never thought it would be a dealbreaker until I tried it. I really miss the instant photo/video buttons on the side of the amaze... or even the instant Video Record for the girlfriend's random embarrassing acts. I almost miss it's "weighty" feel.
That & I realized it does not come with an SD card adapter AT ALL until the day of purchase. I might hold out for the Galaxy Note... if not, it's the Amaze all the way.
Interesting article here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1376856
Edit: I don't like the back. It feels flimsy every time I take it off. It takes some flexing to get it back in properly.

Greetings:
Can someone please be kind enough and find out their Virgin Mobile GN's
Build Version & Build.Prop name(Samsung Vs. Google)? As I'm about to
bite the bullet and buy one from VMobile.
I'd appreciate the info.
