Hey everyone.

Lately I've been having a few problems with my LG Optimus 7. I have only had it for 3 months.

My first problem is the Gorilla Glass. Apparently it is supposed to be scratch-proof, so a screen protector shouldn't be needed. The gorilla glass on my phone scratches from loose change in pockets and even rough edges from my jean pockets! (ie plasic covered fibres to keep from fraying.) Not sure if I got a faulty one, hopefully it can be fixed.

The second problem is with the onscreen keyboard. For some reason in landscape mode I cant type the letter T. whenever I touch it, it receives that I pressed an R or a Y. It's not a case of finger size, because I could type the letter T before, and my 9 year old sister can't even press the T with her small fingers. This has only happened recently, as of 2 days ago. I'm not sure if its a software problem either.

Does anyone know ways to fix this before I go to Telus? Thanks

Thanks! That's a great site to look at. I checked it out and couldn't find people with the same problem.

For added info on the screen problem, It's almost if my screen has "dead spots" on it, sort of like the touch screen receptors are gone in some places. Its really quite odd. Its not only on the keyboard, just that exact spot in every app or function. I think it's a hardware problem.

To try to fix the issue, I did a soft reset and then a hard reset, and nothing happened. I'll take it into Telus soon.

If this problem can't be fixed, does anyone have any good recommendations for a replacement phone? Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure telus can fix it or replace it, but if you are out of warranty , it could be more expensive than if you buy another one since they go for $180-250 on Craigslist. If you are looking to leave wp7 for something different telus does have the new android phone samsung galaxy s2 x , which is one of the best android phones curently. Or you can wait for the new Nokia wp7 phones coming in early 2012.

Thanks, I hope they can. I'll call them soon. I'm planning on ditching wp7 too, I'm not very impressed. Its too much like iOS.

So I sent this in to Telus, and as of now I am using a replacement phone. They say it should be repaired in 2-6 weeks. The replacement phone they gave me is the same phone (yes!) which I found fantastic.

So I put the deposit on it for $150, and reading the agreement it said I would have to give them $50 to update this replacement phone (?!)

Is it just me, or does that sound ridiculous? So now I'm stuck with the origional WP7, without copy and paste :( Oh well, 3 weeks to go :p
