Well, at this point, if anyone from the ottawa region wants in, you can PM me too! (I know that since it is a webstore it should not mind, but then I would be close by if any questions or need support.)

Of course we are encourraged by the Refferal Bonus, but then, the deal for customers is damn good too :)

Just wanted to point out the ulterior motives. It's a good deal (on the hardware at least, the plans aren't all that impressive) for a number of people, but don't make it sound like you're being completely selfless. ;)

Only available on new activations only. You don't technically have to be a new customer, you just have to start a new line.

TELUS doesn't care that these low rates are posted?? Cus these are actually great deals for people who are looking to save some dough

TELUS does care. If they knew what had been posted, the thread would probably be removed and the indavidual could get in big trouble.

Get in on it fast i guess...before it is removed.

Alright, question. I was on a 1 year contract, which was up on Nov 24th. I was waiting for the Moto Milestone, hoping it would come out on CDMA but it has not. That being said, I am now looking at the Tour. Is it possible that I get the promo pricing if I renew on a 3 year?

If that is the case, then the OP did nothing wrong. He didn't post his name and e-mail. He requested private messages. All I've done is posted media contacts from Telus, which are explicitly posted on their website.

The indavidual still solicited new activations. Whether they give their name or not isn't a real argument.

If someone robs a jewlery store, but doesn't leave a name, is it still a crime?

TELUS loses tons of $$$ for every phone they sell through that manner.

Also, posting someones name, media contact or not, is just not a good idea.

Some dodgy activity happening in this forum.

Wait, you were the one that posted your information. You though I was blaming the original guy? wtf???

You have both misinterpreted my comment.

Tomato, you said:

To which I responded:

If that is the case, then the OP did nothing wrong. He didn't post his name and e-mail.

Which is true if that was the case. However, looking at the actual site itself, it explicitly states without condition:

you cannot solicit for clients on public forums.

You may have also mistaken me for the information I have posted. That information is for Telus' Quebec media contact found at:
http://about.telus.com/media/en/contact.html
All I did was put together information that could have been googled.

And really Kronk, do you -really- think they're losing tons of money doing this and letting someone who isn't presently a friend/family member of a Telus employee into the sale is akin to stealing from a jewelry store? They are giving a discount to attract new business and wouldn't open such a web store to lose money. This is closer to a jewelry store having a sale for people that knew their salespeople's names and their names are posted on a big sign in front of the store.Their sales people would like you to know their names so they get their bonuses, and the store would like the business, as some of the business would not exist without such sales promotions.

I think you have actually misinterpreted my original comment. In no way shape or form did I ever refer to the Original Poster. I was reffering to your comment which included your login information for the web store, which is strictly prohibited as you stated by Telus.

My question to you is why you are risking your employment over this?

Clearly your moral comp*** is a bit off center. Not as much so as the OP, but nonetheless, off center.

Posting the individuals contact info/login, is not right.

If you weren't given the information by a TELUS employee, then you shouldn't be using it. I wouldn't be suprised if TELUS pulled the site down for the holiday season, now that the info has been leaked again.

The last time this happened, the login information was changed.

If the moderator was smart, they would delete the thread altogether.

Read closely:
"you cannot solicit for clients on public forums."

I am not soliciting for clients on public forums. I make no personal gains from providing this information. However, making this forum aware that such an offer exists, they can also go go down the street and make friends with a Telus employee if they feel that it will make them that much more eligible for this sales promotion.

Again, I am merely putting up information that you could google. All this information is open to the general public at their whim. I believe their information is on the Telus site because they want people to know their names and contact information, otherwise it wouldn't be there.

And heck, they're having a fun time discussing it over on hofo.

You explicitly stated originally "FYI, if anyone wants these deals or wants to explore the deals on their own:" How is that not soliciting for additional referrals?

And by the way, the Rogers and Telus fanboys (yes, they exist) are flaming eachother once again on the Howard Forums thread you linked to. I don't believe that's a fun time.

I thought that was pretty clear. I'm not soliciting for clients since:
a) They will not be a client of mine
b) I am not telling them I want them to be a client. Read more closely.

"if anyone wants" - the key word here is wants. This means they would have already have prior knowledge of the sale, in one way or another, and desired this deal. Desired, which is past-tense.
"wants to explore the deals on their own" - last time I checked, telling people they could do research is not soliciting.

c) As per my disclaimer, anything I say is on an informational basis only.

I suppose we all have an opinion of what a fun time is. I do not discount your ideals of what it should be, though I wouldn't doubt that others mind find the conversation entertaining. Wouldn't it be a bit naive to think that some people don't find enjoyment in reading threads of people just flaming each other? :D

No. The pricing is for new lines only, which means if you renew your contract, you will not get this pricing. You could, however, start a new 3 year contract and swap the numbers in between the two lines then cancel your older one. Doing this, however, will likely diminish the savings.

Not correct.

If he was on a 1yr contract for his line, that expired on Nov 24th, then he CAN get promo pricing on a new phone (renewing), but ONLY if he signs a 3yr.

All he has to do is call TELUS and say he wants to renew. The offer might already be on his account.

He will not have to sign for a new # and then swap. That goes against TELUS' business rules.
