Google is abandoning Wave. Thats too bad as it never really go any momentum. I think the invite-only beta made it really hard to grow its usage. I got an invite ages ago, but what's the point when i didn't know anyone else who used it.

Now if we can just get Google Voice in Canada finally!!! That would be awesome... but again CRTC is busy looking out for our best interests and making sure we don't have any tools that would hurt our telecom oligopoly.

Google is abandoning Wave for exactly the reason you state. If the numbers do not add up, to the point that they will support m***ive advertising, Google is not really interested.
